we have use of a small parcel of land at
the university of California's Richmond field station. in the foreground are
the vermitopias which house our red wrigglers.
behind the worm boxes are the windrows, or thermophilic piles. in the back
left corner is the Bart tunnel, a drying
area for finished castings and compost. in front of the bart tunnel is the
trommeler, which we use to sift out larger chunks from the finer material
(which we in turn sell). We also have a small office
which mainly houses tools and bagged castings.
(Give our office a call at 510.643.0440/ 510-776-6210 or see below for biking
and shuttle directions). Our particular spot at the station affords an amazing view of the bay, San Francisco, and Marin. For more
information about how we use the site, please check out our methods page, or call us to arrange a tour.
this page has shuttle, BART, and biking
directions to the RFS.
and this page has driving
directions. look at the biking directions for what to do once you get to the
gate of the RFS.
