Welcome to the Education Undergraduates site! Right now, we have only one important thing to tell you: our upcoming event -- Teaching with the Stars is this coming Wednesday (March 12) at 8PM in 220 Wheeler. Profs Muller and McCarthy will be speaking about what it means to be a teacher and why they like teaching. And they certainly do like it; they both won Distinguished Teaching awards!
So who are we, exactly? As you may have surmised from our name, we're a bunch of Berkeley Undergrads interested in entering the field of education. We want to include anyone at Cal who's even remotely interested in teaching someday, whether it's kindergarten, high school, community college, or med school. Our members study (and want to teach) such fun subjects from physics to mass communications. We help students know what tests they have to take to get their credentials, we put people in contact with other teachers, and we're generally just a cool community to hang with. We also enjoy the Magic School Bus.
So if you're wondering how to become a teacher, look no further. Okay, you're going to have to look a little further; our site doesn't have much on it yet, so you're going to have to email us or go to the meeting!
We also have a mailing list, for a few friendly reminders for all our upcoming events. You can tell us to add you to the list, or you can add yourself on CalMail.
