The three Green Demonstration Areas are designed to teach the campus community about living sustainably and using sustainable technologies. Each demonstration are focuses on a different theme within the realm of sustainable living. The Green Room focuses on residence hall life and how students can make small, cost effective changes to reduce their impact on the environment. The Green Apartment focuses on "green transitions" and how a student can make a sustainable transition to apartment living. The Green Suite focuses on "green innovations" and emphasizes the structural and mechanical aspects of sustainability
The Green Room Committee is a group of students and staff that has created and managed the Green Demonstration Areas with the assistance of Strategic Energy Innovations and UC Berkeley Housing. The Green Room Committee consists of Green Campus Program Coordinators, Student Sustainability Education Coordinators, and the Campus Recycling and Refuse Manager.
