Health 116:
Seminar on Social, Political, and Ethical Issues in Health and Medicine.
Course description: Two
hours of lecture and one hour of discussion per week for 2 units,
which must be taken on a passed/not passed basis. An interdisciplinary
approach to health and medicine administered through the Health and
Medical Apprenticeship Program (HMAP). Guest lecturers will speak
on the social, political, and ethical aspects of health and medicine;
students will then discuss and present analyses of the reading materials
as well as issues raised by the speakers.
PH116 fulfills
the Philosophy and Values and Social/Behavioral Sciences breadths for
the College of Letters and Sciences. It is also an elective course
for the Public Health major. Please see the Schedule of Classes
