Opportunities with ISSUES
Participation in the Issues, Berkeley Medical Journal De-Cal course (MCB 98 or MCB 198) offers students with not only a chance to get an article published in a respectable campus journal, but also the opportunity to gain expertise in journalistic writing and learn about various issues related to medicine and public health.
Students may earn two units of Pass/No Pass credit upon successful completion of the course. Unfortunately, budget constraints necessitate that only twelve to fourteen articles can be published each semester, and thus not all students in the Issues course will contribute to the finished product. Publication priority will be given to students who attend class consistently, meet all deadlines, integrate editorial feedback, and pen an articulate, thorough article.
