Notes: Late in the set, Mark stood on top of a monitor and accidentally punched his fist through the ceiling of the just re-opened club (this show served as the re-opening party), sending part of the ceiling down on his head - "Sorry about that." Perhaps due to the late hour - they hit the stage at 12:30am on a weeknight - after Hate the Police, Mark declared that they were going to pretend to leave the stage then come back for more songs, and they went into their usual encore songs. Someone in the crowd keeps shouting for You Stupid Asshole, and Mark finally responds to him, "Hey, that's not very nice."6/4/08 Mohawk Place. Buffalo, NY

Notes: During her set, Donita Sparks has a funny line about "Glad to be playing with Mudhoney, but we're still waiting for those child-support checks. It's not funny. Those kids are like 16 now - ready to go to Harvard." Mark breaks the G-string on his Gretsch during When Tomorrow Hits, sending the song into a sonic mess. He then uses Steve's second Guild guitar for In 'N' Out of Grace. When they come back from the encore, he tells the crowd, "We're back on stage thanks to our supporters," and later introduces Fix Me as a traditional folk song from California.6/8/08 Chameleon Club. Notes: This show was originally scheduled for Note in West Chester, PA. When they come back for the encore, Guy sees a lot of kids in the balcony and asks whether underage kids need to stay there. Then he suggests that everyone go to the balcony, and a laughing Steve jumps in to say that's a bad idea. Mark introduces Fix Me as "a traditional folk song from the South - Southwest California - that you may recognize," and promises that they'll try not to wait 20 years before returning to Lancaster.6/9/08 Rock and Roll Hotel. Set: I'm Now, The Lucky Ones, Next Time, Sweet Young Thing, Touch Me I'm Sick, You Got it, Into the Drink, Hard-on for War, In 'N' Out of Grace, The Open Mind, Tales of Terror, Hate the Police
Notes: This was the first of a two-day festival to celebrate Sub Pop's 20th anniversary. They hit the stage and do a quick soundcheck to make sure everything is alright. Steve asks for more vocals in the monitors and Mark makes a "Pttthhhhhhwwwww!" sound to be used to set the levels. Steve quickly adds, "But less of that." Dan takes an extended drum break on The Lucky Ones. In 'N' Out of Grace turns into a giant train wreck going into the second verse. Half the band is looking for the drum break and half the band is looking for a verse. After much laughter and delay, they hop back into it. During that verse, Mark and Steve combine for the rare double-guitar broken string. Mark, being the trouper (and without a suitable backup) powers through, while Steve gets his replacement. Their guitar tech Danny brings it out and presents it to Steve while on bended knee, and Steve takes it with a correspondingly solemn attitude. They're helped on the solo coming out of the drum break by some righteous air guitar of a side-stage Kim Thayil.7/23/08 KEXP Parking Lot. Seattle, WA (50 min)

Set: The Money Will Roll..., I'm Now, The Lucky Ones, Next Time, No One Has, Touch Me I'm Sick, Suck You Dry, You Got it, F.D.K., Get into Yours/(Jam), (Jam), When Tomorrow Hits/In 'N' Out of Grace, Fix Me
Notes: This was a free sho to benefit a local radio station that was sponsored by a car company and a clothing retailer. Jonathan Poneman, Jack Endino, Chad Channing and Ted Falconi are in attendance. Mark comments after F.D.K., "Are you able to hear the vocals out there? I can't hear them here (through my monitors). That's OK, though - I don't want to listen to that shit." He must have angered the P.A. gods because the entire P.A. proceeds to go out on the next song, Get into Yours, one verse into it. They wind that down with an aggressive jam. With the P.A. still out, they start up a longer, swing-feel, bluesy jam, with Mark, Steve and Guy periodically leaning over to their mic and seeing if it works yet. The crew gets things going again and they go into When Tomorrow Hits, only for the first half of the song, Dan's snare is louder in the mix than everything else combined and Mark's vocals are quieter than a whisper. When they get to the drum break on In 'N' Out of Grace, Mark and Steve hold the last note for as long as they can get sustain before letting Dan do his solo. Do to the delays, a few songs are cut from the setlist.7/31/08 The Forum. London, England
