What you get with an OCF account:
Students have run the Open Computing Facility since 1989 as non-paid
volunteers, and we are adding new
services every year. Currently, we offer the following with every student or group account:

Quota: 10 MB
Accessible by Shell/SSH, POP3, IMAP, webmail
Mail forwarding and auto processing (procmail)
SpamAssassin mail filtering
- Webspace
Quota: 120 MB
Extras: cgi-bin, SSI, PHP, Perl, MySQL
- UNIX Shell Account
Quota: 200 MB
Somewhat unlimited email tech support.
Complete array of prebuilt Solaris and Gnu software for email, news,
C/C++, Internet, IRC, and lots more...
- UNIX Architecture
5 hosts with reliable Sun hardware
Lightly loaded high-speed bandwith to Calren2.
UPS Power and tape backup (files get enough water, light)
- Computer Lab
Heller Lounge, King Student Union, 2F. (Map)
Hours: Monday - Friday during MLK building hours.*
Computers:
- Free printing! 250pp/semester
- Sun Blade100s and UltraSparcs running Solaris 8 (graphical UNIX)
- Gateway PCs running Windows 2000
- All-Volunteer Student
Staff
Learn UNIX, help out your peers with computing issues,
supplement your major (whatever it is) with IT experience... no prior
experience necessary.
Requirements: the ability to take initiative, good oral and written communication skills, a willingless to learn. :)
