SSH stands for Secure Shell. It is a secure version of Telnet (our best
explanation) and akin to having a trunk phone line, and as such, we highly
recommend it. Why is it secure? SSH encrypts (does not send as plain text)
your password over the net, in addition to encrypting all your transaction
data -- whatever you type in. Choose one of the links below to log into
your OCF account using a Java-enabled web browser.
Windows/UNIX (including OS/X) users, click for MindTerm v2.4.2 (~550KB, )
Mac (OS/8,9) users click here
For MacSSH to work, you *must* have installed the
MRJ
Plugin.
Email privacy: while typing email in pine may be secure with SSH, after
you send off the email, it goes through the internet as plain text -- like
a postcard. To protect your privacy, one option is to use PGP (
Pretty Good Privacy). Using
PGP is like putting your emails in envelopes.
