Multiple Asteroid Work

Starting in November 2010, I worked with Franck Marchis on multiple asteroid systems at UC Berkeley, as part of URAP. My work consisted on collecting, processing, analyzing, and organizing observations of multiple asteroid systems. These data were taken from telescopes such as the Keck telescope in Hawaii and the Hubble Space Telescope. Along the way, I learned many valuable concepts in observing, astronomy, and physics, including Point Spread Functions and Full Width at Half Maximum. I also gained a large amount of experience working with programming languages that were new to me, such as IDL and PHP.

I personally found the work exciting and rewarding since learning about multiple asteroid systems can help us understand the composition of the Solar System, and provide valuable clues about its formation and evolution.
