HIMSA is currently developing the AHIMSA Youth Mentoring Program. As a program dedicated to socio-economically disadvantaged South Asian-American high school/middle school youth, we hope to encourage higher education, provide academic and social resources, and combat the “model minority” myth and the disastrous consequences it has on the opportunities these children are afforded. Through this program, AHIMSA will take an active role in promoting progressive values, building a network of support for those who are underprivileged, and strengthening our community.

The AHIMSA Youth Mentoring Co-coordinators are Sawna Patel and Sabrina Hassan. We are currently seeking interested individuals to fill positions as co-coordinators and mentors. This is a great opportunity to serve your community! You must be a registered UC Berkeley student to participate in this program. If you are interested, please email the coordinators by using the form below.
