Demo Reel Break Down:
Section I: Projects
1) Grass Scene from "Runaway" (May 2010)
All grass effects are for the "Runaway" project in Advanced Digital Animation
- Final scene from the short "Runaway": worked on fence, grass, foreground flowers, compositing, and post production
--Maya 2009 and Shake
- Grass Before/After Coloring: painted in the idea and overall concept of the scene
--Photoshop CS3
- Grass After Effects: added grass effects
--fur in Maya 2009
- Grass Effect Interaction: added feet interaction with the grass
--Maya 20092) Intel "Proteus" Project Presentation (March 2009)
- Modeled characters, laptop, magnifying glass, compositing, and post production --Maya 2009 and Premiere
All the following projects are coded in C++, OpenGL, and written from scratch
3) Object Morphing (Fall 2009)
Implemented a program that inputs two .obj files and creates a fluid transition of one 3D mesh to another. This program tackles the problem of dense point to point correlation.
- Morphing between two vases
- Morphing between two goblets
4) Textured Genus 4 Object (Fall 2009)
- Created a texture mapping for a Genus-4 model of my own design. First modeled the object with splines in Slide using Tcl and then ported to OpenGL to texture using C++. Also implemented Loop subdivision algorithm on the model.
5) Path Tracer (Fall 2009)
Implemented the Monte Carlo Path Tracer in order to replicate all the light paths in a scene.
- Cornell Box with 50 Samples
- Diffuse Inter Reflection: also known as color bleeding
- Real BRDF: used real metallic colored paint for the reflective properties of the objects in the scene
6) Ray Tracer (Fall 2009)
Wrote a ray tracer that generates an image by tracing the path of light through pixels in an image plane and simulating the effects of its encounters with virtual objects.
- Three spheres and a triangle
- Five spheres with reflection
- Planets
- Box
7) Phong Shader (Fall 2009)
Coded a shader that interpolates surface normals across rasterized polygons.
- Diffuse shading from single light source
- Diffuse and specular shading
- Diffuse, specular, and ambient shading
- Multiple spheres with different shading
- Toon shading
8) Subdivision Project (Fall 2009)
Implemented uniform and adaptive subdivision for a teapot, and also wrote an .obj parser.
- Teapot
- Obj Parser: angel
- Obj Parser: dragon
Section II: Modeling
9) Laptop (Summer 2008)
- Modeled for Beginning CGI Animation Class
--Maya 2008
10) Mandolin (September 2008)
- Project for Beginning CGI Animation Class
- Based on the Pixar short "One Man Band"
--Maya 2008
11) RoyBear (Summer 2008)
- Created and shaded in Beginning CGI Animation Class
--Maya 2008
12) Toy Bunny (Summer 2008)
- Modeled for Beginning CGI Animation Class
--Maya 2008
Section III: Animation
13) Mo's Run Cycle (November 2008)
- Animated for the "Runaway" project in Advanced Digital Animation
--Maya 2008
14) Lamp Animation (June 2008)
- Modeled and animated for a project in Beginning CGI Animation
--Maya 2008
Section IV: Artwork
15) Magnolias Afloat (2006)
- Painted with acrylics on canvas
16) Flecks (2006)
- Drawn with pen
17) Vase in the Darkness (2006)
- Modeled and shaded
