8085 simulator (sim8085)

I made this simulator for the Intel 8085 microprocessor a few years back. It is of no use to me now but seems to be of interest to many others, which is why it still exists.

Some description

What's nice about it is that is has a good GUI (see screenshot), an integrated assembler, debugger (step-mode and breakpoints) and a convenient and editable view of the registers and memory. It also gives a count of CPU T-states for those who want to estimate how fast their program runs. Some sample programs are included to get you started.

What's not so nice about it is that its written in Visual Basic, has an active-x control that doesn't seem to work well on some computers (I guess win95 users have the problem) and that it is still closed-source.

I can't seem to find a good online reference or tutorial for programming the 8085. If you know of one, please let me know.

Download

The binary distribution is free to download and use.

Version 1.3.7:
Installer: sim8085.zip [Version 1.3.6 is still around, in case you have a problem using 1.3.7]
Just the latest executable: sim8085.exe
[Note: This program has been reported to be incompatible with Windows 95]

Registration: Use the name everyone and the code DCKKI to get rid of the nag screen.
