For two weeks in the very late fall of 2002, Los Angeles-based Musica
Angelica Baroque Orchestra rehearsed and performed under the direction of
the crazily virtuosic musician and guest conductor Giovanni Antonini.
Freshly imported from Milan, where he normally leads his own group il
Giardino Armonico, Giovanni quickly whipped us into musical shape. And as
you can see in these pictures, we loved every minute of it.
It was Jane's digital camera that was instrumental, so to speak, in
capturing these moments. On occasion I appropriated the camera myself
and
snapped some pictures, but most of the ones I've chosen to display here
were taken by Jane -- with only a smattering of mine tossed in.
Everything else you see on these pages, though, is entirely my own
handiwork.
