"God I feel so comfortable here."

"5:05pm--I'm at this cafe 2 blocks north of the Convention Centre. I ordered the tomato & peanut creole soup that comes w/a slice of molasses bread. $6. Delish! Plus, the guy working here is really really cute...

"Okay, the napkin says 'Mainstreet Café and Bar.' They specialize in veggie stuff. Very granola feel here, not to mention the guy working looks granola with his long dreads (and being Caucasian). Took me a million tries to understand what he meant when he said 'Have here?' God, I'm a fool...

"If I were a food reviewer I'd give this place the full rating. The decor is great, too. But of course it all feels very familiar, very West Hollywood or Hermosa Beach. Not that it's a bad thing, just a sign that the Kiwis have mastered the art of... being American, or ahead of the times and socially conscious."

. . .

"It's now 5:27pm. I'm still sitting here at the Mainstreet Cafe. And bar. The sun is shining at my back. Mostly on my head and my right shoulder. God I feel so comfortable here... The walls are a Berkeley green. I feel like putting my head down. And sleeping. The atmosphere is perfect.

"Oh shit I just realized I should've taken a picture of my food! Instead, I'll take a pic of my empty bowls, then."
