Day 2 - E3 2005, Chinese Theatre, Kodak Theatre, Crustacean
Link! Man, the new Zelda game looks really tight. Fighting on horseback ala Dynasty Warriors except probably better execution. *fingers crossed* Link looks HARD.
LACC...how I missed thee...
Boba Fett...there are wayyyyyyyyy too many Star Wars games out or coming out. That license is in extreme danger of being overused. At one point, Emily said "You should get that Star Wars game!!!" and I said "Which one?".
Last year NCSOFT was kinda low-key, this year though they had a full on band/performers.
Playing with fire...
Microsoft had a 2 story booth this year. Pretty neat with the soft whites and everything being rounded. Still I missed the cool uphill walkway entrance they had last year.
View from the second floor of the Microsoft booth.
Zombies!
G-G-G-G-G-G-G-Unit!!!
Last year, they had Sora...now they have Sora AND Mickey (although at 2 different places).
Shadow the Hedgehog...coming out on Gamecube
Yes, that's right...it's a Katamari Ball!!! If you know what Katamari is, you'll get it.
Let's just say I really enjoyed looking at it. The ball had its own guards which would take stuff that people gave them and superglue it to the ball. Great idea.
So Katamari is this game where you roll around a ball picking up stuff in its path. As you get larger, you can pick up larger and larger things. In the end, you can pick up whole islands, planes, clouds and stuff.
A game with the Stargate license is coming out...
This is for some game called Wi-Ki. Doesn't this look like something out of Wind Waker?
.5 sec before this pic, Emily was happily sitting down with her collection of bags. She's not alone though...my sister also collects bags.
The much anticipated Xbox 360...oooooooh...
Some booth babe applied a temporary tattoo on Emily's arm. I thought it looked horrible but Emily liked it. Emily is wannabe bad-ass. Hehehe
A buncha Mithra
Emily got a picture taken with them because she wanted a Final Fantasy mousepad. She ended up not getting it to the counter in time (the picture that is) and I later had to accost one of the SquareEnix people and tell them her sad story. Hehehe
The SquareEnix theatre...good idea having a screen outside. This way people could get a glimpse without waiting hours for a ticket. Maxine helped me out and got me in without a ticket last year (I remember the stares from people last year who wondered why I had walked up to the front and stood next to the freakin door and got to go in first...hehehe) Since I came late though, Maxine couldn't help me out again.
Um yeah...so these girls basically sat around in a fake room pretending to be having a slumber party while all sorts of guys watched and took pictures. Emily actually asked one of the guys point blank what the whole point was, to which, his reply was kinda like "Uh.....I don't know." I know what the whole point was....probably all the guys there had never been in a girl's room before so it was like a once-in-a-lifetime experience! lol...I was reading this article once where a booth babe said that some guys have actually said that it was their first time touching a female. hehehehe
I believe this is for an Unreal Tournement game but I could be mistaken. Right before this pic was taken, the girl pushed a few buttons and smoke came out of the thing on her chest which was quite interesting.
This is Namco's booth for Soul Calibur 4. It's going to be VERY sweet. I played a few rounds.
Getting some beatmania on...
Props from the upcoming Chronicles of Narnia movie...I believe that's one of my favorite book series ever.
The Batmobile in the new Batman movie.
Sony's booth area...reminds me of a casino.
Sony also had an upstairs area where they had a bunch of PSP and cool chairs hanging from the ceiling (like the ones they had at the Go Go lounge at the Sony Party last year)...the Sony Theatre was also on the second floor.
Nintendo's Gameboy Micro...very cool...small but the screen is super sharp.
One Piece!!! The game was like Smash Bros...
Koei had a somewhat lowkey presence there...they had a really cool stand though...
After grabbing our pokemon (which we earned by playing the new Shadow Pokemon game), they looked perfect in our Sony Party bags. I told Emily that 1 easy way to shorten the Nintendo line was to have someone scream "Free PSPs over at the Sony Booth". A few people around me snickered so I knew that there were many Sony fans around who were playing the Pokemon game simply to get the plushies. I'm telling you...if Pokemon went over to Sony...
I can't even tell you what game this is for...still Emily matched so well with it, I just had to take a picture
The Nyko babes this year were much better than last year...I think they were scary last year or something...
After a long day...
One of the people at the train station had really long hair spikes...unfortunately, a person walked right in front while I was snapping this pic from my car. Sux.
The Kodak Theatre where the Oscars are handed out.
On the pillars, they put the names of "Best Picture" winners.
Hollywood Walk of Fame
This was a pretty interestingly decorated shopping mall complex that includes the Chinese Theatre and the Kodak Theatre.
The baby had this really cute hat with ears on...
En garde!
The Hand/Footprints outside of the Chinese Mann Theatre.
Adam Sandler just got his feet/hands done a few days before the trip.
Emily loves Vivien Leigh

"hehehe...:-P
Emily liked the garlic noodles (we actually got it as a seperate dish) at Crustacean a lot which I kind of predicted she would cause that was the one thing I liked when I went to Thang Long (Crustacean's sister restaurant in SF)"
