20080311 - Philadelphia Trip Part 1

We stopped in Denver on our way to Philly (I was there for the National Electrical Contractors of America convention). I got some Marsala chicken at one of the airport joints.

Forgot the name of the palce BUT it could be a Rock Bottom Restaurant...it has some "Old Chicago" features though so maybe it's a mix since they're the same company.

As seen on the way in from PHL (Philadelphia International Aiport)

The first taxi I can remember being in that had a credit card swipe.

I stayed at the Loews Hotel in Philadelphia...it's actually a converted office building, the famous Philadelphia Savings Fund Society building which was famously styled in the Art Deco manner.

The rounded mirrors are awesome...that big bowl sitting on a stand on my desk was a little weird though.

I like big bathrooms...I can't stand some hotels that have really really small ones.

The gaucamole came within a bowl shaped like a cow...how cute! They actually have 9 different guacamoles...on another night, we tried a special one they had that day...lobster guacamole!

Chips were baked! Very nice.

I got the "TACO TASTING PLATTER" consisting of their Black Bass, Beef, Chicken, Carnitas and Mahi Tacos.

20080311 - Philadelphia Trip Part 1

Oh man...all of them were good. I even ate the Black Bass (though it had Sweet Potato Puree) and the Grilled Beef (though it had Refried Beans)...it was that good.

Hispanic Choppers...I love the decoration in that place...very unique.

The most interesting was this wall...

Made out of paper, these are scenes of skeletons that are used to celebrate Dia de los Muertos or the Day of the Dead, an important Mexican holiday.

20080311 - Philadelphia Trip Part 1

I wanted to go around every scene and see what it was about...

20080311 - Philadelphia Trip Part 1

Hehehe, I like the frogs...

Again...another Art Deco building, this is the outside of El Vez.
