Oh, I phrased that wrong: the DVDs do have multiple audio tracks (and I think there were 2 sub tracks, but I can't remember)...

So was it bleeped for TV or not?

I actually have no idea.

I've always thought that with animation (live-action dubbing comes off a little.... cheesier) dubbing is probably better if it's in a more culturally appropriate context. For instance, Rose of Versailles in French, Emma in British English, China #1 in Chinese, Michiko & Hatchin in Portuguese...

Conversely, this means dubs of anime set in Japan can never quite fit right.

I'm considering dropping Kampfer because it's so stupid.....on the other hand, I'm tempted to keep watching it because it's so stupid....

After one million years, I finally completed my terrible blog post for Hayate the Combat Butler:

Oh Hayate!

She is 17. It makes sense in the normal logic of the show, she just happened to put her points into "not being an airhead" rather than "being able to survive being hit by a car" or "being super rich" or "being a hamster".

She admits in the show that she's the "straight-man" or whatever it's called...

Which reminds me, they overtly made fan-servicey pics of her in some of the omake stuff...

Should've capped them, but I only thought of it now...

Also, I like that that Omake segment was initially primarily used to pitch the show's image song CDs...

Caution: although it is used here to comply with television regulations, you should not bring a towel in the bath.
