If you haven't yet, you should read The Tao of Pooh. Not only because reading is good for you, but because Pooh and Taoism make for a pleasant combination.
Eat a passion fruit to incite your passions. And if it doesn't work, at least it'll be delicious.
There's a saying(?) that seems to be popular where I work: "The definition of an insane person is someone who does the same thing over and over and expects different results." It seems like a harmless enough statement. It might even be true. But then one of the QA people at work decided to apply it to me when I asked them to try refreshing the page they were looking at.
So now I have a saying of my own: "The definition of an insane person might be someone who does the same thing over and over and expects different results, but the definition of an idiot is someone who doesn't realize the environment around them is constantly changing." It's a bit long winded, but it basically sums up what I think about the way most people apply that saying. The only case where it will always hold is if you live in a vacuum, where things outside of your control aren't changing. But that doesn't happen unless you put in a lot of effort to minimalize external disturbances. So really there's almost no time you can reasonably apply that saying, so it's just plain silly.
I'd like people to at least give me an original, creative way of telling me I'm making retarded suggestions. Canned phrases just make me want to slap people for being flat and boring.
