Office of Assemblymember Ted Lieu seeks Field Representative candidates for his 53rd Assembly District Office  located in El Segundo. The district includes the communities of El Segundo, Hermosa Beach, Lomita, Manhattan Beach, Mar Vista, Marina Del Rey, Playa Del Rey, Redondo Beach, Torrance, Venice, Westchester and parts of West Los Angeles.



Primary duties include serving as a liaison between community stakeholders and the Member by:

* Responding to constituent needs as appropriate
* Attending meetings of local government and private interest groups
* Updating the Member as appropriate on district affairs and issues
and
* Assisting in research, public discussion, and drafting of potential district-initiated legislation.

Position requires:

* Basic knowledge of the California State Legislature, as well as current state and district issues
* Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, establish and
maintain cooperative relationships, and provide appropriate response to Member, constituents, and stakeholder
* Willingness to work extended hours when legislative functions dictate
and
* General computer proficiency.
