Issue #357 October, 1991, "The Monster Among Us!"
In this issue, both the Puupet Master and Reed Richards discover something disturbing - that Alicia Masters is not human! Turns out that she is a Skrull named Lyja, the original Alicia was kidnapped way back in Secret Wars #12 (1984) and has been held captive ever since.
Issue #358 November, 1991, "Whatever Happened to Alicia?"
Thirtieth Anniversary Issue. In the wake of the discovery of Alicia's Skrulli-ness, the FF take off to the Skrull galaxy in search of the _real_ Alicia, and some answers. Of course, Johnny isn't very happy knowing that he fell in love with and married a Skrull. Turns out that Alicia was replaced with Lyja way back in the Secret Wars Era and that Johnny fell in love with and married Lyja. In the process of fighting on the Skrull war world, Lyja is killed by Paibok, the power Skrull, while protecting her beloved, the Human Torch.
Issue #359 December, 1991, "Devos the Devastator"
This is the first appearance of Devos the Devastator, whose sworn mission is to destroy any species capable of creating war.
Issue #361 February, 1992, "Miracle on Yancy Street" This is the first $1.25 issue. Issue #371 December, 1992, "This Flame, This Fury"
There are two special covers of this issue. The white cover is the first printing, the red cover is the second. Anyway, Sue designs a new, somewhat risque two piece costume. Johnny decides to set off on his own, and in the process runs accross Paibok the Power Skrull, Devos the Devastator, and --- Lyja! Now Lyja the Lazer Fist, Lyja has the power to shoot lazer beams out of her hands. She has come to kill Johnny for leaving her to die. Johnny panics, goes nova, and destroys Empire State University. Whoops.
Issue #374 March, 1993,
Ben and Logan (Wolverine) fight. Ben gets big slash on his face. Big hideous flesh thing on his face. He finds out that he is not indestructable.
Issue #375 April, 1993, "It's Always Darkest Before the Doom!"
The four set off to battle Dr. Doom, who is now vested with a battery pack full of power cosmic. Sharon Ventura, the former She-Thing joins the four on their quest. This is yet another special cover.
Issue #381 October, 1993, "And then there were Three..."
Four... No More! reads the cover. Well, what happens is the FF travel to Latveria and are fighting an _extremeley_ strong adversary/monster, when Dr. Doom is attacked, and nearly killed. In what could have been called the mistake of the decade (if he hadn't come back in issue 407), Reed reaches out to help Doom, which is when Doom decides to turn them both into a pile of ashes. This is somewhat anti climactic, and disappointing. I would have liked to see Reed slowly torn to pieces, rather than just, "poof", he's dead. Not a whole lot of emotion there.
Issue #382 November, 1993
The FF deal with Reed's death, and who will lead the team.
Issue #386 March, 1994, "And Then Came Despair" Lyja's baby is born, and, well, it turns out to be, an egg! Issue #387 April, 1994, "Nobody Gets Out Alive!"
No one gets out alive... Part 1! Yet another special cover. Sue gets another, more appropriate uniform.
Issue #388 May, 1994 This is the first $1.50 issue. Issue #395
The Thing and Wolverine rematch after the battle in issue #374 which left Ben hideously disfigured.
Issue #398 March 1995, "Watchers Lie"
The is the beginning of the countdown to Issue #400. It features yet another special cover (bringing the total of enhanced covers/prices since Issue #358 to 6, 8 by Issue #400).
Issue #399 April 1995, "Watchers Scheme"
That "pesky" Dark Raider guy is once again pretending to be Reed. He fools Sue at first, but she wises up. Oh, btw, they are both in the Negative Zone. The fake Reed dies, and Sue is cast out into oblivion. The Fantastic Force rescue her in Fantastic Force #7.
Issue #400 May 1995, "Even the Watchers Can Die!"
Uatu kills Aron the Rogue Watcher. This results in Uatu being ousted as a watcher. He is no longer a Watcher, but still has the power cosmic. He bec ÿÿÿðE-ñw7Ç` |v <ÿÿà ÿÿü € ÿÿþ @ 7È 7Ç` € ÿÿÿÿÿÿ ÿÿÿÿÿÿ 6ø«Á ÿ ÿ \ ` T duke it out over the fair Mrs. Susan Richards. Of course, they never bothered to ask Sue what _she_ thinks.
