Cal ASME Officers

Michelle Pang
President
Senior

Hi, I'm Michelle and I'm this year's ASME President. I'll be a senior at Cal, majoring (obviously) in ME with a focus in Product Design and Development and with a minor in Public Policy. I'll be working hard this year to make sure that ASME brings you a ton of social and professional/career developing activities, so you can not only make new friends, but findIntr great internships and jobs. In my free time I like to play tennis (I used to play competitively), go out with friends, meet new people, and explore Berkeley. I'm currently an E98 instructor and a member of Cal SMV (Super Mileage Vehicle). With that said, feel free to come talk to me at any time, or drop me an email (I check my email about 10 times a day). I look forward to seeing you at ASME events and around campus - don't ever hesitate to say "Hi!"

Jaikarn Sandhu
Internal Vice President
Senior

Hi, I'm a fourth year Mechanical Engineer (focus in controls) with a minor in music and have been with ASME at Cal for three years. I'm from 'The Valley' in LA and enjoy all things Disney, going to Cal Football games (who doesn't?), participating in the Cal Javanese Gamelan ensemble and cooking whatever I can find in my refrigerator.

Siva Bharadvaj
External Vice President
Junior

*waves* Hey all, my name is Siva and I'm your 2009-2010 ASME External Vice Prez. Now, you may wonder what an "External VP" does. It's my job to bring companies, research, and other events to your finger tips so you can learn more about the cool stuff available to all Mechanical Engineers. I'm always open to ideas and recommendations for events and I'll do everything in my power to make them happen, so feel free to shoot me an email!

Just a little background, I'm a third year ME/MSE joint major, born and brought up in Southern California. I love tennis with a passion (if you ever want to hit, just let me know and I'm there!), not to mention chilling with a good movie, or games, or a book. I like to have a good time, and it's even better when other people have one too.

Hope to see you at our events, and don't hesitate to come up and strike up a conversation about whatever.

Alex Wapniarski
Secretary
Junior

Hello, I am Alex Wapniarski. My academic interests include various fields of engineering as well as music. I enjoy playing soccer, watching movies, playing games of all sorts, listening to music, solving puzzles, and reading web comics. I was a pole vaulter on my high school track team and I can solve the Rubik's Cube. My favorite band is the Kaiser Chiefs and my favorite movie is Office Space.

Alexander Weingart
Activities - Outreach Officer
Sophomore

Hi! I'm Alex, your Activities - Outreach Officer. I'm going to be a sophomore this, and am very excited to finally be taking some mechE courses. I love to play tennis (I'm also involved in Tennis at Cal) and ping pong, but I'm pretty much game for any racket sport. I also enjoy going to the gym with friends and wasting time on facebook...I also have this incredibly bad habit of picking up random things and breaking them...which is also how I know I'm in the right major. :D I'm really looking forward to being an officer in ASME, and hope very much to bring together the mechanical engineering community at Berkeley and beyond. Please let me know if there is anything I can do make your engineering experience at Cal an even more excellent one!

Alex Lee
Activities - Social Chair
Junior

Hi! My name is Alex Lee and I'm the social activities officer. So a little about myself...I'm currently a third year majoring in Mechanical Engineering and a member of the Cal Solar Car Team. My hobbies include tennis, skiing/snowboarding, and photography. Some random facts about me… I can never have too many flashlights, I can't work unless my desk is organized, and I love all sports. For more random facts, you'll have to come out to the ASME events. I look forward to meeting you!
