There's a blue moon out there tonight looking down on us. If you missed it,
you missed it. Get out more. I still do, even though I don't have anyone to
go out with, but this was one of the sometimes when that doesn't matter.

The ground is dimly white, blue some would call it, all strangely yet
powerfully luminescent. It's bright enough to write by: that's what I'm
currently doing. It's a pleasantly crisp evening, don't really need a jacket
on this pristinely perfect California rarity. Extra layers aren't necessary
once you get used to the air, once you let the moon captivate you. There isn't
even a wind to speak of, it is absolutely calm, with the only air motion the
random currents caused by nearby butterflies which will cause hurricanes
 in far off skyweidga.

It's like someone forgot to fill in the shadow and the blue in the sky was too
pleasantly lazy to hide itself below the horizon when the sun put the rest
of the day away. A lone white disk proudly sits up there and gleams away at
us, and I just stare back.

The feeble lights of our humble human city are less than specks even as close
as they are, and as far away as the moon is. A shade of reflectance blots out
the stars, the moon is all, dominant in space where it is a speck.

I'm the only one. The city sleeps. Everyone is missing it, and I'm getting away
with the free deal of the week.

I like it when the city is totally quiet, everyone's asleep, and the fully
blue moon illuminates the inactive mass before me. It doesn't even have to be
a blue moon, it can be a simple monthly full one, but not enough appreciate
blue moons, how can I expect all of you out there to appreciate full moons
when we have them every month? I can so laugh at the primitive rhythmic
quaintness I'll soon no longer be immune to. Even I will have to find a job
someday. Don't care about that now though, for real this time, one of the only
ones, you should note. Even then I'll find time to go outside my hard earned
living estate to appreciate that which no one can lay claim to. No one can
take away my Blue Moon. I'll have to wait another two and a half years before
I can take a special someone up with me. Hopefully they won't wait until then,
 though, there's a full moon in a week I'd sure hate to waste alone . . .
