In celebration of the one year anniversary of this site, I have decided to write a rant on time. This rant will dip into some physics stuff, but I will keep it as simple as possible.

Time is an interesting thing. We all know that it exists. You would be hard pressed to find a philosophy that thinks otherwise. What becomes interesting is man's interaction and fascination with time. A second is measured based on the time between radiation between two cesium atoms according to the National Institute of Standards and Technology. There is another measurement that is the smallest measurement of time, but I can't remember what it is called. Now some would say that this would mean that time is not continuous but in actuality staggered. This is false.

Time is continuous. You can not limit yourself to man's limitations. Just because we can not measure time continuously does not mean that time follows our limitations. Time is also relative. There truly is no such thing as a second, per se. Time does not have a natural measurement, it is all man-based. So time does go on continuously, although in no natural measurable pace.

So next time someone complains about how old they are, just tell them that it is just relative according to man, and that to the universe you are no specific age, you are just existing in the present.
