Religion is a very complicated thing. There are thousands of different religions currently in the world, with numerous others that are no longer practiced. It is also a very touchy subject. Many people believe very stoutly in their religion, which is great. Religion can be a good thing. But it can also cause people to not to listen to other religions. I personally have seen this happen. So before I begin my group of religious sections I want to make something clear: I am supporting no specific religion. I will try to be as neutral as possible, like I try to do with all of my sections. So I am not advocating any specific religion. Now, with that clear, I will now go through and briefly talk about the different types of religions.
- Atheism - There is no god or gods
- Theistic Naturalism - There is only nature, no super-nature or anything that could be called a god
- Radical Theology - "God is dead". He has transcended space-time to control history by becoming a personality
- Liberation Theology - God is with the people, not the Church. Your relationship is with God and it is personal; you don't need the Church to be one with God.
- (Don't know name) - God is a limited being who can only create finite things no matter how perfect it is, requiring that the touch of God be constant to keep things going.
- Polytheism - God is nature, a belief that something as sharks are gods. It is like saying that there are tree gods and frog gods, etc.
- Henotheism - There is one god, but that god can change.
- Deism - There is a god that created the universe, but has no influence over this world.
- Pantheism - All is god. There is only one substance, and that is god and any separation is purely mental.
- Panentheism - All is in god. Suffering is just part of being finite.
- Monotheism - God exists, and there is only one.
Those are the major types of religions. In my other sections I will cover proof of God's existence and possibly individual religions.
