Alumni Band Day 2009
The principal activity of the CBAA is Alumni Band Day. Alumni Band Day 2009 is scheduled for Saturday, September 12, 2009 when Cal takes on the Eagles of Eastern Washington. Game time is set for 2:30pm.
Tentative Schedule:
6:15-6:45am: BRH (if you need an instrument)
7:00am: Check-in, music pick-up, donuts, coffee, juice at at Maxwell Family Field
7:30am: DOWNBEAT at Maxwell!
8:00am: Move into Memorial Stadium to practice with the Cal Band and then continue on our own
9:45am: Leave Memorial Stadium for BRH
10:30am: BRH- Full check-in including merchandise
11:15am: DOWNBEAT in BRH for music rehearsal
12:15pm: Sandwich lunch on Upper Sproul
1:00pm: Cal Band Sproul Steps concert
1:15pm: Sather Gate parade form-up behind Cal Band, follow through campus
1:35pm: Play concert inside FunZone (Maxwell)
1:45pm: Leave Maxwell for Memorial
1:50pm: Enter Memorial Stadium
~2:25pm: Perform Star Spangled Banner with Cal Band
2:30pm: Kickoff!
Uniform: Alumni Band polo shirt & hat, jeans or dark pants/shorts. Shirts & hats are available for purchase. CBAA Member prices: $19/shirt, $11/hat; non-member prices add $5 each. You are NOT required to purchase the new style shirt & hat. We also have womens style polo shirts. A new shirt & hat are included with a first-time 2-year membership ($30) or any new lifetime membership ($325, or $80 per year for 5 years). Credit cards accepted. Save time by signing up for a membership online! Alternatively, you can sign up for CBAA membership at Alumni Band Day.
Merchandise: You can pre-order your shirt and hat and pick it up at ABD (the cost of shipping and handling will be reimbursed to you).
In the address 2 field, please add the word 'PICKUP' to indicate that you will pick up your order at ABD. If you cannot make it to ABD at the last minute, the order will be mailed out on the following week.
Alumni Show: We'll be making fun of the BCS by playing "Big Spender" and then "Everything's Coming Up Roses" as we form a big "C". Screw the jinx - we want to go to the Rose Bowl! :)

Instruments: Available on a first come first serve basis between 6:15am and 6:45am in BRH. No guarantees!
Reception: Immediately following the game, there is a reception in Alumni House (free snacks, soda, beer) for ALL former Cal Band members & families. You do not need to have marched in Alumni Band Day to join us for the reception.
Tickets: Band members with instruments and kids holding the banner (see below) receive free entry. ALL non-marchers need tickets and should enter through another gate (there is usually room near the Alumni Band to sit at the front of sections I and II). To help our family members without tickets, marchers with season tickets are highly encouraged to bring their tickets to give to those without tickets. Tickets can also be purchased from calbears.com or 1-800-GO-BEARS.
Banner Kids: To carry the banner on the field during halftime, kids MUST be at least 53 inches tall & attend the morning marching rehearsal. Limited spots are given on a first come first serve basis. The uniform is a white Cal shirt & blue Cal hat.
All kids of all sizes are encouraged to march behind the Alumni Band banner on our way from Sather Gate to the stadium.
