¿ù¿äÀÏ ¾Æħ: can u believe that april ends 2day?   crazy, huh?   as expekted, spring's flyin' by!   my knee?   well, i took sooni 4 a walk this morn on my own.   i my knee got a li'l sore after a while, n' shoot... it took sooo long to make it 'round that short block. *sigh* however, we did it.

[later] phantom planet's "california" on the simpsons (the o.c. parody) -- i haven't had time yet to watch this clip on youtube, but i really want to.   it's the clip of the simpsons parody'f the o.c., which uses (apparently) phantom planet's song "california."   it's hilarious, n' i originally didn't believe that the song was a real song.   i thought the clever folks @ the simpsons made it up.   however, no.   it's a real song that has really been used on the o.c.!   neway, here's the url 4 the clip: http://youtube.com/watch?v=k8CmHCezz64.   i so badly wanna watch it!

[later] Á¡½É: have u ever googled up "beno hwang"?   like, i did an img srch n' found it interesting.   u can try it.

oh, so how was the wedding this past wknd n' the whole socal trip?   well, the wedding ceremony was a bit long n' ceremonious. &nbps; it was a greek orthodox wedding cos the groom's greek.   that's all i really knew 'bout the groom b4 i went to the wedding.   aktually, we'd heard that he was a movie producer, but we didn't know what kind'f movies.   when i mentioned that, friends'd teased me that he made like uh... x.rated movies or sumpthin'.   neway... guess what!   @ the wedding reception, i learned that he makes skate videos!   freakin' a!   kewl! he makes videos 4 the popular skateboarding site 411mv.com.   however, his biggest claim to fame is producin' the hookups skateboards 2001 video.   now, that's particularly interesting cos yah, he married a korean gurl, n' hookups has been a bit criticised by the asian.am grps cos all their graphiks feature japanime dwgs'f scantily clad often asian women, rt?   (furthermore, i don't think they have ne asian pros on their team.)   yah, so... that's kind'f interesting, but... neway, the fakt that this dude makes skate videos makes him kewl by me.   we'll have sumpthin' to discuss @ family funktions if i ever run into him 'gain.

neway, the beautiful kaela hwang n' i flew down on southwest on fri nite n' returned on sun afternoon.   we were in such a hurry to the san josé mineta aeroport on fri nite after eatin' some mahi mahi 4 dinner, so i didn't get a chance to try gettin' a preboardin' pass due to my knee.   kaela checked in our luggage, while i proceeded to go thru security n' get in the "a' line.   i'd 4gotten that i'd left a cheapo corporate schwag multi.tool in my bag, n' they confiscated it.   i didn't shed tears cos it was a cheapo made.in.china thing.   it wasn't even very funktional 4 a "multi.funktion tool."   i let them throw it 'way.   on fri nite, we simply went to sleep when we got to kaela's parents' house.   on sat, we woke up n' ate a traditional *korean* brkfast, meanin' fud u wouldn't expekt to eat 4 brkfast but 4 lunch or dinner.   later, we had mcyukyuk happy meals 4 lunch.   'twas a pretty chill day (that means "lazy" not "cold"), n' i mostly just hung out online @ bronx's junkyard forums or on flickr.   i uploaded some pix to flickr.

[later] ¿ÀÈÄ: oh yah, speakin'f flickr, a long time 'go, on (super)dave kim's starkdavingmad.com, i found a link to an interesting site called flickrleech.   well, here's the link to my flickrleech page: http://www.flickrleech.net/user/benoburdy.   those r all my flickr pix on 1 page "because paging sucks," as they say on that site.   wait! but if some1 has 'lot'f pix, it does paginate.   is that the rt wurd?

durin' lunch, kaela n' i went to thai chili on halford behind el camino real, behind citibank.   kaela had some kind'f "silver" noodles, n' i had some mixed vegetables beef.   everything was ok, but nuthin' super spektacular if u ask me.

[later] u know... *sigh* like this past winter, kaela n' i were hangin' out w/ 1'f our friends who's a total "socal" gurl, n' i'm pretty sure she'll say that herself.   she sez that life's a total "rat race" up here, that it's sooo competitive compared to socal.   :-/ well, it's true that ppl r really smart in the silly valley.   ppl (in gen'l) r heck'a edukated/edumakated.   it's a freakin' hi.tech world here.   yah, it often cms that most ppl r from top notch skools like cal / berkeley or else stanfurd.   well... it's really not that every1's from cal / berkeley or else stanfurd; but it's that, if they're not, then they're from some other big name skool like university'f michigan or m.i.t. or harvard law or sumpthin'... n' if they're not, they're still from some well.respekted skool somewhere.   the standards'f edukation/edumaktion r very hi 'round here.   that's true.   that's very true.   yah, i guess what i really mean to say is that even if ppl rn't from the best'f the best universities, they still contribute to this higher average'f edukational/edumakational level 'round here.   that's true.   now contrast that to what i experience pretty much each n' every time i go to socal!   what matters down there?   well... some ppl like our friend say it's more competitive up here, while other friends say it's more competitivel down there.   well, i think both regions'f cali4nia r competitive but just in diff ways.   i think in both places u find materialistik ppl who worship $$$ but in diff ways.   ok, 4 better or worse, i've gotta say that i really believe that the whole hype 'bout big edukation/edumaktion's less down there, no doubt.   listen; i'm not sayin' that every1's flat out stoopid down there, but the average level'f edukation/edumaktion must be less cos, unlike here, not every1's a freakin' ph.d. in plasma physiks.   in agreement w/ popular belief, i've gotta say that, yah, image's more important down there than here.   or... is that true? *shrug* *sigh* like, maybe, up here, it's more important to look smart; while, down there, it's more important to look rich.   yah, maybe so...   *shrug* like, up here... i think it's harder to be respekted 4 bein' born into wealth; don'tchu think?   whereas down there, i think it's more acceptable.   like, down there, it's respektable to gain wealth thru family or show biz.   up here, u'd better've gained whate'er wealth u've got via a ph.d. in plasma physiks.   rt? *sigh* i think this is all related to sumpthin' that i read in po bronson's book the nudist on the late shift, a book (which i never finished readin')'bout the silly valley (silikon valley) durin' the .com boom.   it sed sumpthin' 'bout how nerd durin' the .com boom had no respekt 4 $$$ n' maybe even despised even their own.   yes, it's sumpthin' i was taught to believe in @ berkeley.   i think, @ berkeley, i was well raised to believe that no 1 should get rich doin' nething.   u've gotta admit that i cm to believe in that still, evidenced by my inability to make a decent livin' to support my household.   as i pted out in an earlier entry - i'm a cheap deal as an engr; i don't charge much as a dj; i teach taekwondo 4 free.   i'm not much'f a capitalist.   i've been well taught that if u ever make $$$ off'f sumpthin' u like, u'r a sell.out.   u'r an engr that profits off ur engrng skills? sell.out!   u'r a stock broker that profits off'f tradin' stocks?!   sell.out!   [a li'l later] now, i'm not 100% sure hwy; but this discussion reminds me'f the lyrics to depech mode's early.to.mid 1990s hit "walking in my shoes":

depeche mode - "walking in my shoes"

i would tell you about the things they put me through
the pain i've been subjected to
but the lord himself would blush
the countless feasts laid at my feet
forbidden fruits for me to eat
but i think your pulse would start to rush

now i'm not looking for absolution
forgiveness for the things i do
but before you come to any conclusions
try walking in my shoes
try walking in my shoes
you'll stumble in my footsteps
keep the same appointments i kept
if you try walking in my shoes
if you try walking in my shoes

morality would frown upon
decency look down upon
the scapegoat fate's made of me
but i promise now, my judge and jurors
my intentions couldn't have been purer
my case is easy to see

i'm not looking for a clearer conscience
peace of mind after what i've been through
and before we talk of any repentance
try walking in my shoes
try walking in my shoes

you'll stumble in my footsteps
keep the same appointments i kept
if you try walking in my shoes
if you try walking in my shoes
try walking in my shoes

now i'm not looking for absolution
forgiveness for the things i do
but before you come to any conclusions
try walking in my shoes
try walking in my shoes

you'll stumble in my footsteps
keep the same appointments i kept
if you try walking in my shoes
you'll stumble in my footsteps
keep the same appointments i kept
if you try walking in my shoes
try walking in my shoes
if you try walking in my shoes
try walking in my shoes

those lyrics r blasphemous, but not every song i post lyrics to here hastuh be rt out'f the church hymnal.   i know u think i'm ned flanders ned flanders, but i'm not that ned flanders.   in fakt, i'd love to watch a musikal that uses all these songs that i like.   i mean... this song'd be perfekt 4 a musikal cos it shows what our human nature tells us to feel 'bout things like sin.   this is original sin n' how we justify it to ourselves.   yah, like the musik'f depeche mode's sometimes blasphemous (like their song titled "blasphemous rumours"), but it's very thought.provoking 'bout spiritual topiks, n' i believe that's good.   no, it's not christian musik, but it's spiritual; n' i've cn it discussed on christian websites exaktly cos'f that.   must u always believe in the lyriks'f songs to listen to them n' enjoi'em?   it's kind'f like that quote from the movie good night and good luck, which we watched yesterday afternoon.   the main char ed murrow talks 'bout how a socialist british professor dedikated a book to him, not cos they agreed on politiks but cos they were able to discuss politiks w/ ech other so well despite not agreein'.   hrm, as a christian, i think it's sometimes hard to find non.christians that will have a good conversation w/ me re: spirituality cos 1) christians tend to assume 'lot'f things 'bout other ppl, n' 2) other ppl tend to assume 'lot'f things 'bout christians.

shoot, freakin' a!   i went from talkin' bout nor*cal v. socal to talkin' 'bout christianity 'gain. *sigh* well, lemme tell u sumpthin' bout nor*cal v. socal.   this is a confession... a big confession!   if i'm not allowed to snowboard 'gain, then i'd be much more likely to agree to bein' 4ced to relocate to socal than if i can keep on snowboarding! snowboarding's 1'f the biggest posi+ives to livin' in nor*cal.   tahoe!   even if i were to be told not to snowboard ever 'gain (which i believe is very unlikely), i sure hope i can still skateboard.   u know, in the past yr, my skateboarding's really improved.   i'm still not all that, but i'm much better.   *sigh* i hope i haven't regressed 2 much cos'f this injury! >:-(   i want this injury to go 'way!

yesterday, we watched 2 movies: good night and good luck n' volver.   both were good movies, but i liked volver better.   i'm just that kind'f person.   i'm not as much into politkal movies.   as i've sed, i believe every movie should have a romantik element.   aktually, volver wasn't a really romantik movie either; but it had more emotion.

it's frustrates me extremely that i can't get exercise.   the most exercise i've gotten recently was walkin' sooni 'round the block 2day.   i can't jog.   i can't do turbo kick box (tkb). &nbps; i can't do taekwondo.   [later] it's not so much that i want to exercise so badly; but it's that, if i don't exercise, then i can't eat; n' i wanna eat.

[later] i enjoied watchin' volver n' tryin' to learn some spanish.   i learned that "tia" means "aunt."   so that fud brand "tia rosa" means "aunt rose," n' "tia juana" means "aunt joan."   in order to confirm that "juana" = "joan" ~ "john," i consulted babynames.com.   *sigh* (someday) when kaela n' i have a boy or gurl, what should we name him/her?   i like names that makes sense in an asian n' european context.   i'm not averse to french or spanish names.   last nite, after watchin' volver[later] Àú³á ÀÌÁö¸¸ ¾ÆÁ÷µµ »ç¹«½Ç¿¡¼: can u believe that usps postage rates r goin' up 'gain???   [later] in recent months, whenever i hafta walk 'cross a parking 'lot or down a sidewalk, i was always thinkin, "shoot, i ought to be skatin' on my skateboard!   here i am, walkin' like a sucker!"   *sigh* now, i just wish i could walk w/o limpin', eh?
