10¿ù ½ÃÀÛ

¿ù¿äÀÏ ¾Æħ; oktober starts 2day.   can u believe that?   well, i feel i started the month well cos i had my 1st morn skate sesh (morning skateboarding session) in ages @ the sunnyvale skate park!   i'm glad my knee felt ok.   i'm thankful.   my board's (deck's) gettin' more scratched up tho'; but that's what it's s'pposed to do, eh?   [later] i mean, i'm talkin' 'bout my new, santa cruz emmanuel guzman powerlyte deck.   as soon as i got on my board in the parking lot, i rode up to the curb to ollie up n' enter the park, but i was goin' to slow, so i slammed the bottom'f my deck rt on the edge'f the curb n' scratched my deck rt there.   [later] i do like the "dining with the dead" graphics (based upon the last supper), but... yah, skateboard graphics were meant to last, i guess.   i rubbed off more'f the graphics while riding the mini bowl.   just droppin' in off the tail or nose rubs off the graphics by the trucks.   i'm still doin' the whole thing where i'm riding the board the rt way as well as w/ the nose n' tail reversed in order to get 2ice the life out'f it, u know?   man, i really need to clean my bearings.   bearings on my mini.logo/bullet setup r great!   i cleaned'em n' oiled'em up w/ bones speed cream.   hey, where is my li'l vial'f bones speed cream?   *sigh* cleaning n' oiling bearings's like waxing a snowboard deck.   aktually, it cms to be more'f a pain. &Nbsp; however, maybe it's just cos i've been waxing snowboard decks 4 'lot longer than i've been per4ming preventative maintenance on skateboard bearings.   i've done preventative maintenance on wafer.handling robot 4 werk b4.   *sigh* well, now that i have a month brk from djin' weddings (not really quite a month cos i'll hafta prep musik 4 the 11¿ù03ÀÏ wedding), i guess i've time to take care'f my bearings.   2nite?   we'll c.

[later] Àú³á ÀÌÁö¸¸ ¾ÆÁ÷µµ Åð±Ù ¾ÈÇß¾î¿ä: well, 'twas quite an eventful wknd.   i didn't get much sleep until last nite.   i think 1 almost full nite'f sleep (last nite) still didn't make up 4 all the sleep i lost earlier.   yah, the latter part'f last wk was spent gettin' ready 4 saturday's dj gig.   i remixed 'lot'f songs ahead'f time to save myself hassles @ the gig, n' even tho' i personally feel things didn't go perfektly, it definitely saved some headaches.   so what do i mean that things didn't go perfektly?   well, the nite went great, but the dancing part was kind'f so.so, n' if the dancing part isn't perfekt, that always gets me down, cos that's what i really "take pride in," u know?   i'm a remix dj, not just a wedding "deejay."   i 'member a long time 'go jerome was talkin' 'bout how some ppl @ a dj shopped like to make that distinktion: dj v. deejay.   well, yah... i'm a "dj."   i don't just pick out songs n' play'em; i remix stuff n' create werks'f art thru my mixing.   that's what i do.   howe'er, on sat nite, i seriously was werkin' w/ a fickle crowd, n' i don't just say that to make myself feel better.   literally, i threw certain songs in the mix, n' ppl were like wallflowers n' all... then they aktually came up n' asked me to play those songs 'gain.   can u believe that?   i already was feelin' down cos they weren't gettin' into those songs when i played'em, but then... it's like... i guess it wasn't me, but it was just them n' maybe the skeduling.   like, as i was talkin' the whole post.game talk w/ the beautiful kaela hwang on the drive home, i pted out how i had pressure to get the nite moving n' rush thru the oldies set n' get rt into the whole hip hop n' pop scene. but dude... like the old relatives were still finishin' their 6.course meal.   then, when they started really diggin' the old tunes, i was already switchin' into the "party" dance mode, u know?   u know what?   sometimes bridal parties n' wedding planners don't put 2gether well thought out skedules.   i don't mean to say that sat's weddings was bad @ all cos it wasn't it was beautiful!   also, i don't mean to say that just to "defend myself" cos i don't need to defend myself.   however, i do pt that out cos i have gone to 'lot'f weddings, definitely more than most brides n' grooms n' prob'ly more than most wedding planners.   neway, whereas the wrench in the gears @ the last, last gig was the drunk groomsman n' drunk grandpa.   the wrench in the gears this time might've been the groomsman who used to be a dj n' figured he could come 'round, hang out lookin' o'er my shoulder n' go 'round slappin' his 4head if i didn't play his request rt then n' there.   he asked me 4 "hardcore hyphy," n' i told him it'd be in the mix later but that i had a very set set, which was based upon the bride's requests.   dude... yah, like durin' that post.game analysis, i resolved to make a kind'f checklist 4 brides n' grooms that includes questions like:

  1. what is more important to you and your guests?   fancy mixing and transitions or song selection (i plan to provide both, but what is the preference between the two?)
  2. you are picking out songs for your wedding, and granted you should have all the songs that you like.   hwoever, do you guests want to dance to the songs that you've picked?
  3. have both the bride and groom given input into the request list? ...because guys like different music from girls, but guys won't dance if girsl won't, and vice versa.   think about who has given you requests.
  4. if your giving me requests based upon what you think your relatives will like, can you honestly say that your relatives will dance?   have you seen them dance at weddings?
  5. specifically for asians -- now, you may have given me a request list full of great songs that you like, but have you considered that most of your guests will tend to want to dance mostly to hip hop?
so yah... let me emphasize that sat nite was by no means a failure or a bad wedding party.   even 'the troublesome groomsman came up @ the end to thank me, especially since i ended the nite w/ a hyphy favourite: the federation's "i wear my stunna glasses @ nite."   even tho' the couple sed they'd give me guys to help me set up n' breakdown, i had absoultely 0 ppl helping me the whole nite.   dude... not to say that the ppl weren't great ppl, but that's always a bummer.   neway, yah... i must emphasize, 'twas a beautiful wedding, n' things really went fine in the end.   dude, the fud there was amazing.   this was 1'f the rare, rare times that kaela n' i weren't fed the same fud as the guests: the guests had this crazy, crazy full 6.course meal; but shoot, our vendor meal buffet was still really good, n' i appreciated it.

gee, i stayed up so late on fri nite n' on thurs nite.   on sat, durin' lunch, kaela n' i went to will n' alice's son matthew's ùµ¹ chuhtdol (1st b.day party) @ mayflower chinese restaurant in milpitas's 99 mall.   'twas a great lunch w/ great ppl.   on sun, kaela n' i werked w/ our grx t3 light small group's "core" to put on our booth @ fall launch.   that went great, n' a bunch'f us went to lunch @ tomatina afterwards.   after that kaela n' i tried to exchange her skateboarding knee pads @ fremont's caliskatz, which just recently moved, but they were mysteriously closed; so i continued to drive kaela's kia up the east side'f the bay to hayward to check out ken's friend's new dj shop - the dj outlet on its grand opening day.   dude, it was 2 hektic in there to talk to ne employees, but i saw they had the essentials: rane/serato scratch live systems, technics 1200s, pioneer cdj1000.mk3s.... *sigh* i'm still so confused o'er what equipment to get. *sigh* neway, after that i drove us o'er to betty n' toby's place, where we had dinner w/'em.   they cooked some delicious, fresh, homegrown fud!!!   toby's a great gardener!   we had tomato gazpacho w/ parsley sour cream, bbq chicken, n' lemon garlic chicken beans.   augh, good stuff!   typikally, i don't like gordon biersch marzen; but last nite, it tasted great... maybe cos'f the fud.   toby gave me a toshiba gigabeat f40 4 my b.day n' told me how to install rockbox on it, so i did that 2day.
