The Berkeley Fiction Review is an undergraduate, student-run publication. We look for innovative short fiction that plays with form and content, as well as traditionally constructed stories with fresh voices and original ideas. We invite submissions of previously unpublished short stories year round and publish annually.
Sudden Fiction Contest 2012
Submit your 1000-words-or-less story for a chance to win $200. First, second, and third place finalists are published.
Postmark Deadline: March 1, 2012
Guidelines for submissions:
- Entries are $6 ($4 each additional story), check/money order payable to "BFR Sudden Fix/ASUC".
- Must be 1000 words or less.
- Typed, double-spaced, in 12pt font.
- Cover letter should include address, phone, email, and title of story.
- Previously unpublished work only.
- Submissions will not be returned.

We accept stories year round, but we are no longer accepting paper submissions. Although we love to read your stories on paper, we are able to read and evaluate your submissions much more efficiently online. Please e-mail your stories to email@example.com
Berkeley Fiction Review is currently accepting art and photography submissions to be featured in Issue #32. Why not give your artwork the opportunity to be featured in our next issue?
We accept artwork submissions year round, not just between May and September. Color artwork of any size OK. Please submit only artwork intended to be printed. No portfolios, please. Submission deadline for artwork to be considered for Issue #32 is March 12, 2012. Artwork received later than this date will be considered for Issue #33.
