BookWorlds Planning Meeting
That's right, once again it's time for us to start planning the courses that will be offered come the Fall. If you are or might be interested in teaching a course, this meeting is pretty much mandatory. Even if you're not sure you want to teach, but want to make sure a class gets taught so others can take it, you should show up. If you can't make it for some reason, contact the Thain and let him know. (That'd be Jorge - he's a course coordinator as well, so you can find him on the facilitator page.) The meeting will occur:
This Saturday, March 17, at 12:00 Noon, in 106 Wheeler.
See you all there.

Forum/Registration Woes
Some of you may have noticed crazy problems with new user registration and possibly posting to the Forums. That should all be fixed now. If it's not, go ahead and let me know.
UPDATE:
Turns out I was wrong, and basically nobody (except us magically special Moderators) could post to the forums. I can't figure out why, but I'm sure the reason was retarded.
Anyway, I think I've fixed that for the time being. I'm afraid it may not be the best fix ever, but it seems to work.

Another Change of Hobbit
So I was just down at Another Change of Hobbit, to check on when they might be getting my books. I was told that the books should arrive on Friday - and the way he said it suggested that he meant in general, for all BookWorlds classes. Just thought I would share that with you, because now you know. And knowing is half the battle.

Hoo ah! (welcome welcome)
Welcome one and all the another semester with BookWorlds. It seems that all of our classes are cleared for launch and ready to go. Descriptions of nearly every class we offer can be found under the Content section, as can short bios and contact info for most of our Instructors. Everything else is still operational and in full swing, including the Forums and Download section.
If you are experiencing slow load times or any sort of lag, I apologize. I can only assume it's the OCF website experiencing some sort of crazy load, what with it being the first week of school and all.
And to all you Instructors: if you don't see your info or course stuff online, it's because I never got it. Everything I've received is there. So blame the internet, not me, if somethings missing.
Here's hoping for a totally kick-ass semester for all!

Holy Crap!
Wow. So, I have no idea what just happened, but anybody logging on to
the Forums in the next little while is going to be face to face with
what could very possibly be the first tendrils of probing alien code.
But fear not, loyal citizens, I shall combat it to the best of my
ability.
Update:
Ok, so that's done now. If you saw what I was talking about, you were
probably as scared as I was. If not... consider yourself lucky. But the forums are updated as well, and, I assume, better somehow..?

Instructors and Course Info
Hope things are panning out smoothly for everyone.
Course Descriptions and Instructor Info should now be online. More Instructor bios will be added as they trickle in. Pictures will be up as soon as I sort out how (again... retardation strikes with a vengeance!).
And Dana Anna responded almost instantly, providing the website with the sexy new logo you see above.
Huzzah!
Update: I'm an idiot, and credited the wrong person! D'oh! Anna is the one responsible for our sexy new logo. Sorry Dana.

More Updates
Yet more progess on the site - Class Descriptions are in the works (the Intarweb is being retarded at the moment) as are Instructor Bios (come on, you slackers!). Registration is currently open, and the Forums are totally functional. We also have a Reviews section, and registered users should start filling that bad boy up with, uh, reviews.
Lastly, I've updated the above listing of classes with the best data I have available - hopefully it's current. Please, please let me know if it's not, or if something changes.
And oh yes - if any of you sexy people out there are image savy, we need a new logo. I'd like it to include the Tolkeinscript up there now, as well as BookWorlds. I'll eventually do it myself, but if anyone feels like being kind and artsy...

Seasons Greetings!
Welcome to the new (and improved!) BookWorlds site.
While we're sure there are a few kinks left to be worked out, and a handful of cosmetic changes to be made, the nitty gritty of things should be up and running. Everyone is recommended to register, as you must be a registered user to post to the Forums or upload pictures to the Image Gallery. Everyone should be able to browse the site without trouble, though.
Coming soon are pages for Course Descriptions and Instructor Bios/Info, as well as a few other things. If you're looking at this page and you're an instructor who would like an Administrator account (letting you moderate the Forums and write your very own snazzy Stories, just like this one), please contact Webmaster Steve via appropriate channels. Also, if any of the above info regarding class times etc is incorrect, let him know about that too.
To the rest of you, please, enjoy the site and let us know what you like, what you don't, what you'd like to see, and definitely anything that goes wrong (there's a link to contact us above). Thanks, and enjoy!
- Webmaster Steve
