In 20 years, all those expensive textbooks you bought aren't really going
to be useful. Maybe they'll bring back some traumatic memories of Physics
7A or that one class taught by that one guy. A college yearbook is meant
to be a time capsule: you might remember clearly the excitement of Berkeley
now, but you're bound to lose track of it once you get a job, start a family,
and buy a house.
We have a limited number of copies.
Each year, we print around 1200 copies of the Blue & Gold. For a school
of 30,000 students, we might not have any copies left if you wait 10 years
after you graduate. Every year at Homecoming, alumni come in search of the
Blue & Gold only to be disappointed when we don't have any copies left
for sale. Take this opportunity now while we have inventory to order your
yearbook!
It lasts a really long time.
Unlike other campus and student publications, the Blue & Gold is meant
to last forever. It is a hardcover bound book, often coated with durable
finishes to withstand many years of aging. We print in color and black and
white on a high-quality press on high-quality paper, so you can be assured
it will be part of your personal legacy. It is a beautiful book that is
often displayed in campus offices (such as the Chancellor's) as a "face"
of the University.
We've won many awards.
-
The 2003 edition of the Blue & Gold won Best Design at the Annual
UC Berkeley Student Publications Awards.
-
The 2002 edition of the Blue & Gold was one of eleven finalists
for the Pacemaker Award from the Associated Collegiate Press.
-
Both the 2001 & 2002 editions were selected as the Best Overall
Undergraduate Student Publication at the Annual UC Berkeley Student
Publications Awards. The 2002 book also won Best Design.
-
The 1996 edition of the Blue & Gold was recognized for general
excellence by the Columbia Scholastic Press Association with a Silver
Crown (its second highest award next to the Gold Crown; only nine crowns
were awarded to universities in 1996).
-
The 1996 book also won one of eleven national Pacemaker awards from
the Associated Collegiate Press as a leading example of collegiate yearbook
publishing.
Please contact us.
We do have a limited quantity of many historical yearbooks, dating back as far as the late nineteenth century. If you are looking for past editions of the Blue & Gold, please contact
us or visit our office in 10D Eshleman
Hall (we are in the Publications Center on the ground floor). We look forward to helping you find what you need.
Archived editions are available for viewing.
If you find out that your yearbook is not available for sale, you can
browse through our archives at our office. The California Alumni Association
also has a set.
