 FilesGreetings! This is a reminder that our Advanced Excel Workshop will be on Tuesday, April 10th at 7:30pm in 136 Barrows. This workshop is designed for an audience with more background in Excel. Attending the “Basics of Excel” workshop is adequate background for this workshop. Topics covered include advanced formulas widely used in the actuarial profession, array formulas, pivot tables, and basic VBA. Remember to bring your laptops so you can follow along with the presentation. You should also download the workshop files from our website (actuary.berkeley.edu) so you can follow along with the exercises. Note that the Excel Workshop is member exclusive. Thus, admission is free for members (you must show your membership card). You may also purchase lifetime membership at the door for $5, or purchase a ticket for $3. If you choose to become a member after the event, you need only pay the remaining $2 for membership. As the end of the semester approaches, Cal Actuarial League is hosting the Final Round Presentations for our Third Annual Actuarial Case Competition. It will be held on Wednesday, April 4, 6:30 pm at C230 Cheit Hall, Haas School of Business. Three finalist teams will be presenting their project results followed by questions from audience and judges from numerous top actuarial firms. Not only will this be a great chance for you to learn about the different actuarial tracks and the kinds of problems actuaries deal with, it will also be a perfect opportunity to network with the judges.
