My name is Jay Wang and I’m a second year majoring in bioengineering from Pleasanton, California. I started taking piano lessons when I was 6 and continued until I was 15. Back then, playing piano seemed laborious to me; it was just another chore I needed to do. However, since then I have realized how much music means to me. Thus, I got involved in CCM, as it provided an opportunity to perform informally and serve the community at the same time. I am amazed to see this organization grow so much in such a short period of time, and I’m really excited about what we can do in the future!

Hi! My name is Jeff Lai and I'm a fourth year MCB-Neurobiology major and Music minor from Diamond Bar, CA (L.A. area). I've been playing flute since I was 10, though I did play piano before that (and have since forgotten it completely). I’ve often found it difficult to keep playing with all the stuff college life throws at me. However, I was inspired to make time for music by my former flute teacher, who moved to Belize (Central America) to bring the joy of music into the lives of the children in the rainforest. She showed me that music really is the universal language, and I’m really glad to be a part of a wonderful organization that gives me the opportunity to share my love of music with others. GO BEARS!

My name is Yu Lei, fifth year student at Cal. I am always actively looking for performing opportunity - enjoyable but not stressful, and it takes me 2 years to find out there is a such good club out there - CCM. I am glad to see CCM again grow larger and serve more Cal musicians' needs. I played piano since I was 7-year-old. I did not like it at that time because I was too immature to understand it, but later years of practice made me like piano. I like to being in college because I can meet so many wonderful musicians and I have chances to chat with them. In here, I wish CCM becomes a niche for every musician, and gives them a playground to share their thought and music.

Hey guys, my name is Curtis Wang, and I am currently a sophomore mechanical engineering major (but trying to switch into EECS). I've been playing piano for about ten years and violin for about eight years. I'm also trying to learn guitar in my free time, so if anyone ever wants to jam or something, I'm down for that (even though I'm not very good).  I'm currently a member of the University Symphony as well, so if anyone is interested in concerts or anything, feel free to talk to me; I might be able to get you free tickets. That's all for now... if you want to know more, check out Facebook.

I'm Sandra Nakagawa and I'm in my second year at Berkeley studying English and Mass Communications. Clarinet is my main instrument, but I play tenor saxophone as well and am active in UC Jazz and the University Wind Ensemble. I like both jazz and classical, but I'll really play any style as long as I get to interact with other musicians. I joined Cal Community Music in the Spring of 2007 and have really enjoyed the musicality of the other members and the warm reception that we get at all our concerts.
