It is estimated that there have been four to seven large earthquakes on the Hayward fault since 200 BC. Giving about a worst case 1/300 chance of a large earthquake in any year. There have been five earthquakes greater than 7.0 in California in 150 years, one was in San Francisco.
There are details of expected structural damage depending on the earthquake magnitude for different building strengths.
