Cal in the Capital Alumni

Cal in the Capital is proud of its long history of connecting outstanding Cal students with the opportunity to intern in DC. Our alumni provide the strong base from which the program continues to grow and change.

There are many ways for alumni to stay connected:

  • Read alumni stories about CITC.
  • Tell us your story! We would love to hear from you.
  • Donate. Every gift contributes to the continued success of CITC.
  • Volunteer. Mentor, host an intern, conduct mock interviews, speak at our class, or even host your own CITC event! Email us if you are interested.

    CITC Reunion 2008

On October 2, 2008, CITC held the program's first reunion! Nearly 200 alumni and friends attended the event, held in the Lipman Room on campus. The evening featured great food, the Palin/Biden debate, and engaging speakers: Chancellor Robert J. Birgeneau, CITC founder Dr. Michael McGinnis, and keynote speaker Professor Robert Reich. Professor Reich, former Secretary of Labor for President Clinton and economic advisor to Barack Obama during the Presidential campaign, shared his knowledge and sense of humor while discussing the economy and current issues. Alumni enjoyed re-connecting with one another and meeting CITC interns from across the 43 years of the program.
