Healthy Italian Cooking Class

with Head Chef and Owner of Cafe Venezia

Cindy Deetz, head chef and owner of Cafe Venezia, has invited parents, friends, and family into her world for a Healthy Cooking Series. Paretnts, friends, and their children ages 7-13 are welcome to join us as we explore, hands-on, traditional Italian fare! During the 4 class series, you will learn the importance of healthy eating in a balanced diet as you work in the restaurant's kitchens, rolling ravioli, twisting your own tortellini, tossing fresh salads, pureeing pestos, and exploring the art of Italian sauces and fruit-based desserts. Adults and children alike will enjoy spending Sunday afternoons creating delicious recipes from all over Italy! Join us for a culinary adventure that is sure to titillate your taste buds and can't be missed!

 

What is on the menu:

Week 1 Raviolis, Whole wheat spaghetti with Sicilian tuna tomato sauce

Week 2 Grilled swordfish with fennel orange vinaigrette with baby greens salad with a homemade vinaigrette

Week 3 Chicken legs braised in carrot juice with Calabrese braised greens

Week 4 Dessert choices, vegan dark chocolate cake raspberry sauce, Grilled fruit with reduced balsamic vinegar

Venezia is easy to find and has ample free parking adjacent to the restaurant.

When: Sundays, March 7, 14th, 21st, and 28th
Time: 11am - 1pm
Cost: $30 per child, $35 per adult. Series: child, $120; adult, $140.
