[10/29/06] Dinner at the Asian Food Ghetto

I drove up to Berk to meet up with Sabine, Lauren, and Celina to hang out and eat at the Asian Food Ghetto. We hit up Thai Basil that got a new face lift since I've been in. It looks a lot cleaner brighter and the food service is a lot faster. Sabine and Celina are Nutritional Science and Public Health grad students. Just hearing them talk about the things they've encountered really makes me want to go out and try to make a difference in the world. Sabine went to West Africa this past summer. You come to realize that people are really selfish and that a lot of them don't even care about the less fortunate in the world. I think we've all become jaded after living in Berkeley, because you get harassed for money daily and you feel bad for their situation but giving them money won't necessarily help. I'm thinking about make trying to do Habitat for Humanity and go help build houses for people. I dunno I want to give back to my community and those not as fortunate as me but I'm not really sure what I should do to best help them. After living in a different country for a year you come to realize how stupid Americans can be and what jacked up values they have. Everyone really should go live in a different country and realize that there's more to life than what stupid movie stars are doing. What is up with America's obession with the lives of actors and singers?

[10/28/06] Dinner at Caesars then Bar Hopping in the Marina

Sabine was in town and brought Ryanne and Brian with her little baby girl. I haven't seen Sabiner since she went off to Texas for grad school. I haven't seen Brian since Lake Havasu Spring Break trip years ago. It was really good seeing them again and kinda trippy that they have a baby. She's really cute and loves to walk around. Marcus made reservations at this Italian place called Caesars which was really good and we all shared 5 bottles of wine. It's really good that me and Eunji ate because later on that night we ended up drinking kind of a lot. The restaurant was packed and pretty conservative so me and Eunji definitely felt weird dressed up in our halloween get up. I'm sure some older people there were like what the hell are those girls wearing haha.

Afterwards Marcus, Sabine, Me, and Eunji went to the Marina district and hit up Bar None to meet up with the rest of the crew. We saw Carlo, Shayan, Mike, and Marty in line. Me and Eunji got in no problem but the guys had to wait for a bit. Man people definitely did dress up this year and Alcorn even came out even tho he messed up his face the night before. After Bar None we hit up Hi Fi and partied there. That's where the night starts becoming a blur haha I don't even know I ended up dancing. Derek fed me pizza after the bar closed =D. Carlo said I was getting mean looks from chicks because of the way I was dressed. I didn't really notice at all but I never do =P. I don't see why tho cuz it wasn't like I was stealing their guys or anything just partying with my own friends.

[10/22/06] The Departed

Derek wanted to watch the Departed cuz we [Eunji, Me, and him] all saw the HK version of the movie Inferal Affairs and wanted to see how they remade it. It was pretty long of a movie but I did enjoy it. I don't know if I liked it that much more than the original version. Yah I haven't seen Derek in months but this past weekend we hung out both days =D.

[10/21/06] Cal Football against Washington

Marcus had an extra football ticket so I asked if Eunji would want to go since I knew she would appreciate it the most out of all my friends. First of all I'll admit that I'm a poser football fan haha. I don't know the stats of the team. I don't even really know that many names of the players nor do I know how losing or winning against a certain team will affect our rankings. But I can say I am still a hardcore fan and I will always believe in them and not be a traitor like TRAVIS. hahah punk ass bitch who has no faith. lol ok that would be something marcus would say not me i still like you trav =D. Anyways, so the game was suppose to be a blow out but we almost fucking lost. It was an intense game tho I gotta tell you that. We were all screaming our hearts out near the end and during overtime. We won the game 31-24. Since the game was an early one we finished about 4ish went back to Raleighs and drank so more. After we got tired of that we head to Thlassa to play some shuffleboard. Marcus' friend Lewis really reminds me of a fat version of Alcorn cuz they really look similar haha even Lauren and Eunji agree with me.

Derek called me up later and asked if I wanted to check out this festival of lights thing with me. Me, Eunji, and Derek met a bunch of really friendly Indian people who kept introducing themselves to us then watched a cool illegal fireworks show in the backyard.

[10/15/06] Family Drama then Hangin out with my Taiwan girls

My uncle has been getting progressively worse the past few months. He was diagnosis with liver cancer about a year ago. Things have been soo crazy trying to get his affairs in order and trying to help out my parents with stuff. We've been lucky that in my family no one has died yet so this experience has been hard on all of us. My Uncle George passed away on Sunday. He was 54 years old. I guess the only thing I really regret .... haha this is going to be funny since I'm such a picture person is that I don't have a recent picture of us while he was still healthy. I'm really glad that I decided to study abroad this past year in Taiwan because it gave me a chance to get to know my Dad's side a lot better. The language barrier wasn't so great since my Taiwanese and Mandarin improved to the point where I could actually have a decent grown up conversation. I will always cherish the memories that I have of him because he was such a giving person who always loved to give me and my sisters presents.

Lea and X came into town but I didn't really get a chance to hang out with them because obviously I was busy dealing with family stuff. We went to Costco so Lea could finally get glasses. X wanted to get her eyes check so she could play tennis better and beat Joe =P haha. Then we hit up Texas Roadhouse for lunch since Val's Burger Joint is freaken closed on Sundays. How does a business stay in business if it's not opened on a Sunday? Anyways, it was great catching up with the both of them and seeing them in person. X i will sport your Chico gym shorts when I go to the gym from now on hehehe.

[10/7/06] Cal vs Oregon

I hadn't been to a Cal game in a while so I was really excited for the game. There were tons of duck fans at Ralieghs were I hung out with Marcus and his brother Mario. Lauren forgot her ticket and had to drive back home to get it so she missed out on all the prepartying. Me and Eunji caught up again and tried to remember all the dumb things we said to people the night before haha. Bears kicked the ducks ass and now we've moved up in the rankings to #10. Cheering at the game for all the touch downs for some reason just really brought my spirits up again =D.

[10/6/06] Hanging out in SF

I haven't hung out with Eunji in a while so I made Robert drive to the city so we could go Halloween costume shopping. We went to the Haight district and I got some crazy ass blue eyelashes. I still need to figure out my shirt but otherwise I think I have my costume planned out. After we shopped we then went to Japan town to eat food. We checked out this S Factor dance class where girls were swinging around on poles. Man it looks soo fun I would totally do it if I lived in the City but such a pain to get there every week. We ended up picking up Eric who really lives in the boonies of the Presidio then heading out to a this Medjool Lounge on Mission Street. The place was really nice had a good atmosphere and actually a good number of cute guys too bad none of them talked to me. I ended up getting pretty drunk and then having a break down once I got home. Crying every once in a while I think helps you release and is good for your soul. Sorry I scared the shit out of Robert and Carlo because I couldn't stop crying.

[10/5/06] The Return of Thursday Night Dinners

Marcus has a super nice ass house in Livermore which is where Thursday night dinner was held. Me and Lauren brought bread and I made lettuce wraps. Dinner was definitely fun and going to be a weekly thing again. The only thing that is sad is that the group has dwindled down to 3 from 10.

[10/3/06] Heading to the Beach

I just needed to get out of the city and my house because they were depressing me so I invited Robert to go to the beach with me. I've never been to Linh's hometown aka Pacifica but I heard it was really pretty and nice so I figured I would head out that direction. The weather was nice and sunny with a bit a clouds and not too cold so all in all a great day to just chill and walk around on the beach. We both took some pictures he likes to take his time and compose pictures while I just take a lot and hope some will turn out pretty hehe.

On a side note so my uncle got worse which is hard to hear. I've never had anyone I know die on me. I guess I've been really lucky that way. I was talkng to my little sister Windy and she said her friend had to go to 7 funerals this past year. I don't know if I could handle that I probably would have a break down.
