[4/28/07] Hanging out in SF with Vi

Vi came up for the weekend to visit Eunji so the girls decided that we should hit up some bars in the city. Me and Erik took Caltrains up to SSF and on the train ride we were reading a chinese book about the history of opium. Haha well it was more like Erik read it and would explain every other word to me trying not to use English. We met up with Tim at Cha Cha Cha. The place was soo packed and even after an hour our table wasn't ready so we just ended up eating at the bar. The bartender even gave us a free lemon drop shot since our table wasn't ready. The food was yummy as usual and the plantains were really good. We tried to get into Slide but that didn't happen so we hit up Swig, Ambassador, and Rye.

[4/21/07] Sabercats Game & Los Gatos Bars

Erik's friend Zac got a bunch of tickets to the arena football game. I invited Lauren and Lucas to come they ended up leaving early. I met some of Erik's friends ... don't remember all there names tho. Arena football is basically like regular football but more high scoring. Haha I need to go borrow football for dummies to get what's going on. I mean I understand the basics but not the more complicated stuff. It's all good tho I have Lauren and Erik telling me what's going on and I'm really good at cheering even tho I have no idea why =P.

Afterwards we decided to hit up the Tiki Bar but that place had a bunch of old people and by old I mean they were like my parents age. We hung out there for a bit while Zac tried to pick up chicks. I think I can make a good wingman especially if I'm drunk and in my talkative moods. We then went to Los Gatos to meet up with some of Zac's other friends. We decided to go to an Irish pub, which I thought was fun. I guess people were a bit stuck up there but I wasn't trying to talk to other people so it didn't matter. This one slutty chick ended up kissing the bartender just for a free drink. First of all the bartender was super old and not cute. Second wtf that's just soo gross just shell out the 5 dollars for a drink dumb ass. It started to pour when we left so me and Erik ran back to the car while everyone else walked. I think we got less wet.

[4/20/07] Derek's first amateur Muay Thai fight

I drove down to San Jose and picked up Erik from work to go watch Strikeforce at the San Jose Civic Auditorium. Derek was fighting his first ever amateur fight muay thai kickboxing fight. He was up fourth and they ended up starting late so he fought around 7pm. I've never seen any boxing match live or on tv and it was really fun to watch. The first fight was totally outmatched and one of the guys got punched in the nose or something so he was bleeding. It's more interesting watching stuff with Erik cuz he likes to make side comments so I kinda get what's going on hehehe. Ken, Kim, and Anabelle also came out to support Drock. I haven't seen Anabelle in forever well Winter Ball party but I don't remember most of the night hehe. Derek didn't win but the guy he was competing against seem to have more experience in the arena. He'll be better next time =D. The crazy guy had to lose 12 pounds in 2 weeks insane man. I know it's mostly water weight but still that's a lot. There was one team where all the guys dressed in cami colored shorts and most of the guys were good. Me, Kim and Anabelle ended up cheering for them just because we didn't know anyone else fighting. The main event was between Micheal Manaquil and Ben something. Michael was the hometown favorite and definitely looked like he won the event.

[4/14/07] Grindhouse

I went down to SJ to hang out with Erik and met his friend Zac. I think we went to Oakridge and we caught Grindhouse. It was a double feature. I like the first movie more than the second one even thou the first one was really gory and graphic with lots of things jumping out. Haha I think cuz I kept covering my eyes Erik even whispered to be brave =P. The second movie was pretty slow and for the longest time I didn't really see how it was related to the first one. I'm glad the chicks kicked the shit out of Kurt Russell's character. He was a big baby and creepy. Once we got back Erik played his guitar and sang me some songs. He even wrote a song about us =D sooo sweet huh.

Shine

You're finally feeling understood
but you don't trust your own good sense
you're still not sure how much you should
let go, relax your tight defense

and you're still learning how it feels
to let me enter in
to brighten all your darkest corners
to open all your doors within

PRECHORUS:
just let go
take it slow
just let go
then you'll know

CHORUS:
as we fall into each other's gaze
brilliant beams radiate from one to one
amplify, multiply our eternal blaze, and
explode! we shine just like the sun

VERSE
there is already much to tell
you find yourself feeling that way
a way you've never felt before, but
it's been inside you all these days

and you're still learning how to feel
learning how to open up
shed light on all your darkest corners
fill your emptiness with love

PRECHORUS
CHORUS

BREAK:
we wake up and you go and you still don't know
when you turn around will you be alone
we can wait and wait but you'll be afraid
it's too late

as we fall into each other (x2)
CHORUS
and with you i shine just like the sun
together we shine just like the sun

[4/13/07] Hanging out in the City

I took BART to SF to hang out with Linh, Shirley, Little Alice, Big Alice, and Pearl. I met up with Linh first at Japantown and we walked around Filmore street shopping and chatting. I haven't seen Shirley or Alice since college. I met both of them in extension's Astronomy class. We hit up Dino's Pizza where we order 2 medium pizzas and a calzone. We got the clam and garlic pizza and special ordered one with meatballs, fried eggplant, onions, and bell peppers. The pizzas were soo good and we ordered so much food. Dino actually even ended up giving us a free pitcher of beer. Afterwards we hit up Harry's Bar and had some mojitos that weren't that good. Lion's Pub definitely has the best fresh fruit mojiotos ever.

[4/8/07] Giants/Dodgers Baseball Game

X is a fanatic about baseball and was driving down to watch the game so I decided if she was willing to drive 3 hours down to watch a game I could go up to SF to see her. I took Cal trains from San Jose to the ball park. Tickets at the window was 29 bucks but me and Erik found a scalper willing to see us tickets for 15 dollars. We meet up with her and went to go find 3 seats actually together. I don't really watch baseball that much so it's not really that exciting to me but with X and Erik spouting of baseball stats and info it became more interesting. Giants suck is all I can say and the Dodgers swept them. It was funny some Dodger fans actually brought broomsticks to indicate they swept the Giants.

After the game we decided to walk to Hard Knox Cafe because Lena said her and Brent were able to walk back to his apartment from the stadium in like 30 minutes. I don't know where anything is in SF really so it's never any help to anyone to ask me how to get anywhere in the City, which is the reason my little sisters bought me a GPS for Christmas hehe =D. After about 20 minutes of walking and getting almost to Market street things definitely didn't look right because it didn't seem like Brent's apartment was where I thought so I had to call up Carlo to check if we were going in the right direction. He said we were but that we had still a long way to walk so we decided to eat around the Meteron and went to Mel's Diner. I had the Ahi tuna sandwich that was sooo yum and we met two of X's taiwanese Chico friends. They were soo funny I kept laughing soo hard my stomach started to hurt. It was cool because we all were speaking Mandarin and everyone understood except when we would go into Taiwanese then Erik didn't get it. Yeah I gotta work on my tones =( Erik's pronunciation is soo much better than mine.

[4/7/07] Running, Wall Climbing, and Aerial Dodge ball

Windy and her friend Carlos had planned to run at Garin Park on Saturday morning so me and Lena decided to tag along to train for our half marathon. We ran 30 minutes out so that meant I ran a total of an hour. I was pretty tired by the end because there are hills and I'm not in shape to do hills. It was a good run and I need to really push myself harder to be able to last for 2 hours of running. Ahh at least I still have a while for the Nike marathon.

I got home had 15 minutes before Erik picked me up to go wall climbing with Jen. I wasn't actually as tired as I thought I would be considering I had just run. Wall climbing was really fun I pushed myself and I can actually climb at 5.9 now. I am actually climbing the way you should and I mostly use leg strength. I'm pretty flexible so I just bring up my leg and push myself up or jump up and grab and hand hold. I think I've conquered 5.8's and I can actually climb up paths that have a little bit of overhang or under hang.

Gerald's birthday party was that night so we all went to Sky High Sports in Santa Clara to play aerial dodge ball. There were a ton of little kids playing. They looked about 9 so when we were playing it basically ended up being tall people against short people heheh. The balls are really soft and hard to throw. Erik says I throw like a girl =( but I was never good at throwing sports so whatever hehe. I just had a lot of fun bouncing up and down on the trampoline floor.

Afterwards, Erik and I met up with Tim and Eunji to go grab dinner at a Korean place called Jujubee. The food was really good. We got a kimchi fried rice, fried chicken, a chicken stew dish, cubed beef, and pork donburi. For dessert we had shaved ice with fruit and red bean, which was also really really good. We chit chatted about stuff and made plans to go water rafting in the summer. Man only a few more months till I gotta wear a swim suit must work out more hehe.
