[8/30/07] Avenue Q

I went to watch Avenue Q with Lena, Brent, and Sandy in SF. The musical was really funny and I enjoyed it a lot. It was basically like Sesame Street with puppets but for an older crowd. The main character was a 23 year old guy who just graduated from college and was trying to find his purpose in life. He moves to Avenue Q where he meets a random group of neighbors. I really loved the bad idea bears their voices were soo cute and funny. The things that came out of their mouths were soo unexpected. They were soo cute and funny. "AVENUE Q is the story of Princeton, a bright-eyed college grad who comes to New York City with big dreams and a tiny bank account. He soon discovers that the only neighborhood in his price range is Avenue Q; still, the neighbors seem nice. There's Brian the out-of-work comedian and his therapist fianceé Christmas Eve; Nicky the good-hearted slacker and his roommate Rod -- a Republican investment banker who seems to have some sort of secret; an Internet addict called Trekkie Monster; and a very cute kindergarten teaching assistant named Kate. And would you believe the building's superintendent is Gary Coleman?!? (Yes, that Gary Coleman.) Together, Princeton and his newfound friends struggle to find jobs, dates, and their ever-elusive purpose in life." (taken from the official website)

[8/14/07] Happy 30th Anniversary

My dad is in Taiwan so he couldn't celebrate his 30th anniversary with my mom so Windy decided to buy her a cake. Sogo cakes are pretty yummy.

[8/11/07 - 8/12/07] Hatch's Order of Magnitude Book release party

Hatch actually got his book of lists published and you can purchase it and your nearest Barnes and Nobles or off Amazon.com. Rich planned a party bus to celebrate the release of HOOM and me, Erik, and Lauren flew down from the Bay to meet up with everyone in Carlsbad. Sabine even flew in from Texas to hang out with us. Rich lives in a really nice ass house in Carlsbad with some of his Marine friends. The backyard even has a pool. There was the cutest dog living there. She was soo sweet and never barked just kinda sat around letting people come pet her. The party bus came at 9pm so we prepartied and ate dinner before heading out to the Gaslamp district in San Diego.

We partied on the party bus for about 45 minutes before getting to the Gaslamp district. The bus came with a few bottles of champagne, which we all happily drank of course. I as usual when picture happy and took a bunch of pictures. Yes everyone can thank me later hehe.

Once we got back home to Rich's house we all decided it would be a great idea to jump in the pool. The water was kinda cold but it was still fun trying to dunk everyone and chicken fighting Dave and Lauren ... sadly me and Erik lost but it was because Dave threw me off. We passed out and had to wake up around 9ish to meet up with Stephy at this cute restaurant called St. Tropez. Man we are getting so old that our conversations were about buying houses, getting married and having kids. Ahhhh what the hell is going on with us haha. Erik was great about putting up with our girly talk =D.

[8/8/07] Green Speaker Series

Since I've discovered I really want to pursue my career in sustainable real estate development I've been trying to learn more about the industry. I heard about a Green Real Estate Development speaker series going on in SF so I invited Lauren and Erik to come check it out with me. The presentations was pretty informative with some stuff I already knew and I learned quite a bit about LEED ratings and standards. It was getting a bit late so I didn't feel like networking and decided to go to dinner with Lauren and Erik at this Thai place.

[8/7/07] Free Museum Day

The first Tuesday of every month is free Target museum day so Lena, my mom and I decided to go to the Asian Art Museum and MOMA. At the Asian Art Museum we saw Yoshitoshi's Strange Tales: Woodblock Prints from Edo to Meiji, which was kinda interesting but after the first few it kinda seemed all the same. I think my mom liked it more because the prints would be of Japanese folk tables that actually originated from China. Tezuka: The Marvel of Manga was more interesting. It was really random but I guess a lot of elementary schools brought their students to the museum that day and there were a bunch of lil kids sitting around trying to draw manga everywhere through out the exhibit. I almost stepped on a few by accident ... hehe oops. The MOMA exhibit was Matisse and I didn't really like it that much. Haha my mom really doesn't seem to like the modern stuff she doesn't quite get it which I can understand. Some of the stuff just doesn't look that great. Since we've never been to the SF Soup Kitchen Lena took us there for lunch.

[8/4/07] A's vs Angels

I went with Lauren to the A's vs the Angels baseball game at the Oakland Stadium. It was insanely bright outside and I ended up getting a fat shorts tan from sitting out in the sun. The A's won so that was great whoo hooo.

Me and Lauren getting sun burnt at the game

Afterwards I went down to hang out with the bf and ended up watching Bourne Ultimatum with Zac and Steve. I really like the movie except for the super jerky camera shots.
