[9/30/06] Still in a Funky Mood

I still have been in a funky mood lately I dunno I guess it's just one of my turning points in life. I haven't had school for a month and since I haven't started working there's not that much for me to do. I guess I'm just stuck in a rut and bored with things while at the same time realizing that life isn't as long as you think so you should try to live each moment as your last. It also hasn't help that I got sick and I've been sneezing up a storm these past few days. I don't know what I want out of life I just know I want to be happy with it. I already know working tons of overtime for the big bucks isn't going to make me happy later on in life, because I'm not one of those who has to drive a Mercedes SLK to be happy with my life or carry the latest Gucci bag. I know this sounds cheesy but I still want to find a job where I can make a dinfference and help peoples lives but still make enough not to stress about paying my bills or if i want to go to a different country for a week it's still possible.

I read this book Buddha Baby by Kim Wong Keltner, which is about a Chinese girl who doesn't think she fits in with the Asian crowd and mostly hangs out with white people and ends up marrying a white guy who acts more Asian than her. After living in Taiwan for a year I definitely do feel more Asian and in touch with my roots but still at the same time here I have only ever dated one Asian guy in my life and here a lot of my friends are white. I totally love hanging with the Taiwan crew and speaking Mandarin or Taiwanese with them. I guess I feel that Asian guys are scared to come up and talk to me that was definitely true in Taiwan. But at the same time I think it would be really cool and different to date an Asian guy for once. I'm getting sick of the white ones that pop up in my life.

X is such a hardcore Dogers fan she drove down from Chico for the Friday and Saturday game. After the Sat game I meet up wtih her and Warren for some soul food in SF. It was my first time eating Soul food ever and I guess it's good but I didn't like it that much. I guess the restaurant Hard Knox is pretty famous because Warren's sisters friends were planning to go to dinner there too.

[9/28/06] In a sad mood

I passed my Real Estate Broker test which is one thing less I have to worry about. I'm still trying to find a full time job to build up my job experience tho. My 4th uncle isn't doing so great. My parents are with him in Taiwan right now and he has to stay in the hospital. They doctors don't think he will last longer than a year at best and hopefully at least till the end of the year. That has gotten me pretty down and depressed lately and drinking away my saddness definitely won't work. My dad is pretty torn up so he's relying on my mom to get a lot ot stuff done and since my mom is out of the country it all falls on me to do. I don't mind doing it and none of my sisters can because it all deals with RE stuff it just makes me super sad when I think about it. I don't think the cloudy overcast days are making me feel any better either. Oh Carlo got his appendix removed on Monday so I've been hanging out with him and sorta playing nurse haha. He actually recovers pretty fast and doesn't complain much about pain. I've been also playing mom to my sisters since they all work fulltime and don't have that much time to make dinner and do laundry. I've decided if I just became a housewife later on in my life I would go crazy and shoot myself of boredom tho I must admit there is a ton of stuff to do that you wuldn't really think of. I've been listening to the Fray's new CD How to Save a Life. It totally fits the mood I'm in right now.

I haven't seen Linh since last year when I gave her pink highlights so we decided that we need to hang out and went shopping hehe. I actually really like shopping with her and always end up buying something or other. We hit up Stoneridge since I needed to go to Coach and use up my store credit. I got a Legacy ipod case and a key chain all for free because of bomb ass Joel =D. Once we got home I decided to make cinnamon rolls since I've been craving them for 2 days. I think they turned out pretty well and I ended up making a ton as usual. Now I need to go find people to give them to before I eat them all and get fat hehe. Actually, after Linh left I felt a lot better and more happy. Aww I love my friends hehe plus I guess shopping therapy does work.

[9/22/06] Eunji's 25th Bday Clubbing at Suite 181

Eric had a bunch of friends in town and begged me and Eunji to come clubbing with them since they were short on girls. He brought his two high school friends Leslie aka Blake and Matt. Matt is a white guy but can speak fluent Japanese which is soo weird but he brought his Japanese friends who spoke no English at all. Me and Eunji tried to talk to him but yah that didn't work out so great. So yah there was two girls to five guys so we were trying to just dance with all of them so they had fun and didn't feel weird. The situation reminds me of my bday clubbing trip which had really unequal guy girl ratio too. Anyways, so this coworker guy shows up and I feel sort of bad because I told him to come but he kept trying to pull me away and just dance with me. At first it was ok but then I didn't want to because then I basically would be ditching the rest of my guy friends. Finally it got to a point where me and Eunji just had to ditch the guys to try to even see if there were any cute guys around. Yah there weren't any but both of us have decided that we need to go meet new people and see what's out there. Blake is actually pretty cool and I had fun hanging out with him too bad he has a gf tho.

[9/21/06] Hanging out with Friends

I haven't seen Joel in at least a year and he needed me to exchange some Coach stuff for him. I got 200 dollar store credit hehe too bad I hate Coach now because all the stupid 15 year old teeny bopper who carry Coach purses ruined it for me. We grabbed lunch at PF Chang's which actually is probably just a little bit better than Panda Express. Haha no more fake Chinese food for me. Next we're gonna go eat it's Korean BBQ or something good actually =D. I love hanging out with Joel he's so chill and for some reason always pays for our lunches. Ooh I can't wait till snowboarding season starts so he'll take me up yayyyy.

[9/19/06] Bar Hopping in Berkeley w/ Jia

Since I didn't really get to hang out with Jia at the game I went up to go bar hopping with her and her friends. First we hit up the Clarmont and went to the Paragon. That bar was really nice and reminded me of the posh ones in Taiwan. The drinks were kind of expensive so we decided to go down to Henry's for Two for Tuesday. Dude you have to pay cover for Henry's now. When we first got there it was pretty empty then it got packed. Most of the guys were super ghetto like Oakland ghetto and seriously being the only one sober I was soo annoyed with them. Arghh really I hate being the sober one around all these drunk ass girls who think they're all hot shit but really if they were sober they would realize they look soo dumb. Yah so these girls dance around in a the center and you get the skeezy guys hangin around the outside tryin to hit up on a drunk chick. There was this one guy that started dancing with me whatever but then I couldn't get rid of him. Ughh no more Berkeley bars ever. I did this for you Jia you better be happy =P.

[9/18/06] Genetech's 30th Anniversary

For Genetech's 30th anniversary the company threw this huge party for its workers. They let people who were working get off work at noon and head over to the free concert. The opening act was Foo Fighters then Bob Dylan and finally Black Eyed Peas. The CEO wouldn't tell his workers who was playing but gave them little clues so they could guess who would be showing up. Eunji invited me and each worker was only allowed to bring one guest. They had a ton of food in parking garage different stuff at every level. At the top level was free beer and wine. We listened to Foo Fighters from inside the parking structure then decided to go outside to find some Hagen Das ice cream and currios.We ended up giving some waiter guys corn dogs because they really wanted one. Ohh we also got some blue cotton candy hehe. So while we were grabbing food I run in to Aaron my classmate from my supply chain management class. That was really random especially since Eunji couldn't find any of her coworkers in the mass of people.

[9/16/06] Cal vs Portland State

All season ticket holders got 2 free tickets to the Portland game so I ended up bringing Alcorn, Shayan, Carlo, and Robert to the game. While we were waiting to transfer to a Richmond train this random sort of weird Cal alumni starts talking to me about football games. I can't be mean so I just stand there with her telling me her freaken life story. I really don't know why but that always happens to me. I get random pretty nice strangers telling me about their whole life which is always really random and weird especially since I never ofter much about me. I guess some people really just like to hear themselves talk hahaha. We all hit up Raleigh's after a long walk from the BART station and meet up with Marcus and got a few pitchers of beer. Jia and her little sister flew over from Boston but I didn't get to hang out with them that long. Then we headed up to the stadium and met up with Lauren and Christina. We ended up sitting in the student section behind the band that way we could finish the beers we snuck in. I forgot to tell Carlo not to wear red and some bored ass guys started yelling take off the red shirt to him. Oops my bad hehe. We of course kicked their ass and the score was 42 to 16. The day was pretty hot and standing in the sun was very draining. I left with the guys after the 3rd quarter to go find some food. I got chili cheese fries from IB Hoagies yayyyy. I've been craving them since I've been back in Cali.

Update: Soo apparently according to Lauren I was trashed at the game haha. I didn't think I was that bad but now that I think about there was definitely a period that I don't remember what I was doing. Get this I was drunk dialing all my old football buddies and I talked to my friend Hatch for about 5 to 10 minutes but I totally don't remember doing it. Five minutes later I go heyy we should call Hatch then Lauren calls me a drunk ass =( *sniff soo mean haha. It's all good I had a blast. I love football games and beer =D.

[9/15/06] Dad's Bday

I took my Broker test today and it didn't seem that hard so hopefully I should pass it cuz I really did study my ass off for it. My dad's bday was yesterday but we didn't have time to celebrate it so we all went to Le Cheval in Oakland for dinner. The food was actually really good and I think my dad liked it. He's kinda picky about what new places he will go try. Once we got home we ate cake and used my kick ass Taiwan bday candle that shoots sparks and sings happy bday. The battery was sort of messed up so it didn't sing that great. Oh well.

[9/13/06] Study Study Study till my brain explodes

So I've been studying hardcore for the past 2 weeks for my RE Broker test that I must pass this time. No more flirting with guys during my lunch break I will be reviewing flash cards haha. Really it's soo gotten to the point where I'm tired of studying and I just remember the answer to the practice tests I keep taking. Hopefully that helps me when I actually take the test this friday. I hit up Starbucks the other day with Carlo and Robert to study otherwise I've been locked up in my room staring at my computer all day long doing practice tests =(.

I really needed a break so me and Lauren decided to go shopping for clothes at Nordstrom Rack in San Leandro then going to dinner afterwards. We hit up La Pinata which was really good and the margaritas were pretty yummy. We sat around and bitched about our lives and stupid guys of course. If it weren't for Cal football games I really wouldn't see Lauren at all. So sad we've grown up and are totally adults. Now we just need to go hang out with more mature people. Hehe. You know what I've realize that totally sucks ass by not being a high maintenance chick I totally get screwed over cuz then I end up with guys who don't treat me as well as they do to the high maintenance ones. Guys say they like chick who aren't high maintenance but man really they don't treat them that great which bites ass. I think I should become a stuck up snob and total high maintenance gf just so I get guys who treat me better. Really why is it that guys are selfish lil bastards and girls are very considerate. Grrrrrr.

[9/9/06] 1st Cal Home Game against Minnesota

Lauren and I bought season tickets to the Cal Football game. Christina flew up from LA to go to the first home game. She picked us up from BART and we got to park in her parents space in the foothill lot. Yayy for connections. We tail gated a bit in the parking lot next to the stadium. We also got some free food from Christina's parents' friends hehe. We ended up winning the game 42 to 17. It was a beautiful game and the team played alot better than last week. The only thing that kinda sucked was the weather. It started to get super cold near the 3rd quarter of the game. After the game was over we went to Barney's for burgers yumm and caught up a bit. I love Cal Football hehe. It's mostly cuz I get to see friends I don't normally see all the time. Man all my friends are getting soo old and turning responsible. Hahah I don't feel that bad for not partying and much and turning lame because everyone is doing the same thing too.

[9/2/06] Oakland Art and Soul Festival

I went to the Oakland Art and Soul Festival with Windy, Lena, and Brent. The band line up was pretty good. They had Silversun Pickups [ a new up coming band that's pretty mellow ], Plain White T's [ I really liked them gonna go download their cd now hehe ], Lostprophets [ they are more metalish live and scream a lot which Lena and Brent didn't like. They mostly sang songs from their new cd. I love the Rooftop song. The lead singer is pretty funny and cute in a British way. ], and last New Found Glory [ they were pretty good too but I kinda like the other bands better.] I think I'm getting too old for regular concerts cuz I really like the fact that I got to sit in bleacher instead of standing around getting pushed around in the mosh pit. I do miss crowd surfing but it looked like people were getting drop so I was fine missing out on it. There were tons of people at the concert wearing skinny jeans. They look cute on girls but sorta weird on guys.
