Navajo sandstones are talking to us, what are they saying?

As far as we see it right now, there are three main subjects to focus on. First will be exploring the history and depositional environment of SE Utah and specifically Navajo sandstones and limestones. Second will be to discover what is on our thin sections. Will we find pollen or ostrocods and what can we infer about past environments from them? Third and last of all, we will determine the paleomagnetism of the area by taking a core from a Navajo sandstone sample. What can the results of our discovery tell us about the tectonic history?
