FAQ's

Q: What is the Finance Committee?

A: This is a committee of 7 members, each from a different engineering major, that make funding allocation decisions for ESC funds. It shall decide how money will be allocated to student groups through approval by a majority of the committee. The committee will meet 2 times per month at a set time. You do NOT have to be an officer for an ESC-sponsored organization to be a member; however, you do have to be an engineering student.

Q: I was allocated funds, how do I recieve them?

A: Take a look at the CalLink presentation on the Treasurer's Page for step-by-step instructions on how to get your reimbursements.

Q: Can an event be funded be both the ASUC and EJC?

A: Events receiving special funding from the ASUC will be looked at on a case-by-case basis. Grants are available from the ASUC to help fund special events and projects, please see a treasurer for details.

Q: Can allocations carry-over to the next semester?

A: In November there will be to request a carry-over of funds to the next semester. If this form is filled out and turned in on-time, the request may be granted or denied.

Q: What is the Leadership Grant?

A: This grant was first awarded in Spring 2009. The idea is to allow groups to pay for either travel or hosting leadership conferences and/or competitions. Will be awarded to two groups per semester (2 grants at $250 each semester), for a total of $1000 per year. The form for applying for this grant will be posted on the ESC Website in September and due in October.

Q: Why it is important to fill out the Student Activity Group Funding Request, and midyear report?

A: So the treasurers, ASUC, College and potential donors know how much money groups need.
