holiday cards
I just finished with a really cool job in California before I transferred here for school that I think I like better than any other job I have ever had. My major and area of interest is in graphic design and anything having to do with computers. I was living and going to school out in california and when the summer broke and I was without a job I looked for something new and interesting, without forgetting that I was desperate for money. I saw an ad listed for a designer of corporate holiday cards and I thought that it looked like it would be relatively fun. When I got there I still was quite sure what a business holiday cards really was. Once I was trained I saw that it was basically a way for companies to send out these cards that don't necessarily focus on any one thing, though they could, but really they are just doing what we all do with these types of cards which is to spread some good cheer and put a smile on some people's faces. I really got in to this job because it allowed me to jump in any new project like say designing christmas cards for a particular business, and I would try to relate the subject to the company and it was really just a creative free for all after that. I worked there for the whole summer and I bet I hit just about every single one of the different holiday cards at least once. My favorite, and my clients' favorites, were the ones where I injected some humor. I won't go in to too much detail here but I will say that they actually asked me to stay because I was getting such good reviews from the various companies we work for. Even though the offers came in lie mad, I still needed to just move on with my life and stay in school because I know that if I really want to I can just start up the same kind of business when I am finished with school and be my own boss.
