This is an amazing time to be alive. We are at the edge of so many incredible
developments, and we are living through the infancy of a whole new age that we
still can't really even fathom. (For a good view of how far we have come and
where we are headed now, read
The Rise of the Network Society by Manuel Castells)
For me, that means that exploration and curiosity lead straight into the Web of
our new imagination. This isn't just virtual, and yet it isn't all real. There is
a fine line, and it's a line that gets crossed often. That is what makes it so much
fun.
Most of the work that I do is HTML and Java development contracting
for a range of companies in Northern California. At times I have had the priviledge of doing
sites for places on the East Coast as well. (YEAH for telecommuting!) The work that
I love best, though, is the kind of work that is half programming and half social research.
I like to see how we can make the Net work for us: help us learn, help us connect our
communities, and help us break down our barriers without destroying diversity.
Whether your company is just considering the idea of utilizing the Net or you know exactly
what you need on your site, and you need someone with creativity and spunk to get it done, I
can help bring your visions to life. Marketing. Education. Internationalization. Whatever
the goal, lets get to work!
