Check out the extension set of Warcraft II (Beyond the Dark Portal)
where you get to see the Horde's homeland. Oh, and I find it much more
difficult than the orignal Warcraft II, which is what everybody
wanted.

General tips:
- Send a peasant/peon or two off into the wilderness to build another
town hall by a gold mine (to mine extra gold and lumber) and to start
another town, if necessary
- Build 2 or three barracks (especially if in multiplayer mode) to
quickly replenish troops)
- Having a peasant/peon repair a building while another one builds it
will complete the building twice as fast (but will also cost more)
- I like to attack the enemy's peasants/peons first (for example, by
sending four axethrowers/archers to stand in the way of their gold
mine). Keep the rest of the troops on guard, in case the enemy decides
to send out its troops to protect its peasants.
- I like to set my warriors (in groups of nine) to attack a single
target at a time--I find this much more effective than having them fend
for themselves one-on-one.
- When much of the enemy's army is decimated, go after their barracks,
to prevent them from replenishing troops
- By Sea:
- I like to use battleships/juggernauts (aided by a
plane so they could see subs) to attack everything at sea, including all
shipyards, foundries, refineries, and anything they could reach on
land--like catapults/ballistas. Then send troops by transport to attack
on land.
- Remember: Destroyers are the only ships that can attack against
Gryphons/Dragons
- In the air:
- I find that nine archers/axethrowers (especially when fully upgraded)
are better protection against gryphons/dragons, if you set them all to
attack a single target at a time, than other gryphons/dragons.
- Lots of
guard towers are also effective (canon towers cannot attack flying
objects).
I think the birds are two slow, and if not watched, they may end up
attacking each other.
- Gryphons/dragons are good offensive weapons, though.
- In multiplayer games: BUILD LOTS OF PEASANTS/PEONS
because the player with the most gold can build troops faster and have a
first strike advantage. (However, when playing against the computer, I
like to keep my troops limited, so that they are easier to control)
- I guess that's about it. The above strategies have worked for me,
but everyone has different plans of attack. Try copying the computer's
strategies--it's no longer as tactically stupid an opponent as it was in
Warcraft I.)
