Duke Nukem 3D

Unlike in Doom and Heretic, in Duke 3D you can look up and down, jump up, duck, and if you fall a long distance, you get hurt. "A" allows you to jump and "Z" allows you to duck. "Page Up" gives you a quick glance upward, "Insert" gradually allows you to look up and "Home" gradually returns your viewing range to normal. "Page Down" gives you a quick glance down, "Delete" gradually allows you to look down, and "End" gradually returns your view to normal.

Sidenote: I don't find the violence in this game much more graphic than in Doom or other similar games, but something I REALLY object to is how the women are portrayed. Take a look at the game and you'll see what mean. Yuck! So I basically try to ignore them and focus on keeping Duke alive.

Description of Weapons:

"1" - Kicking (when you have no weapons)
"2" - Handgun
"3" - Shotgun
"4" - Ripper (chaingun)
"5" - RPG (like a rocket-launcher)
"6" - Pipe bomb (like grenades)
"7" - Shrink Ray
"8" - Devastator (destroys practically everything/everyone)
"9" - Laser-Trip Bomb (disables lasers)
"10" - Freezer

Description of (some) artifacts:

Medikit: Replaces up to 100 health points (can be saved if all health points are not used up)
Boots: Helps you jump higher
Protective boots: Enables you to walk through toxics
Scuba gear: Allows you to swim underwater (until you run out of oxygen)
Holograph: Acts as a decoy when deployed
Steroids: Gives you a quick energy boost and increases strength (for as long as you use it)
Jet-pack: Enables you to fly

Cheat codes (for shareware version):

DNSCOTTY[]{}: Warp to new level ([] is episode and {} is level)
DNSTUFF: Gives you all keys, weapons, ammo, and items
DNVIEW: Chase Cam
DNHYPER: Puts you on steriods
DNRATE: Frame Ticker
DNCORNHOLIO: God Mode
