Hexen

Hexen is the sequel to Heretic, with a few major differences. There are three different types of characters you could play (with pros and cons for each), there are plenty more artifacts, and some of the artifacts are used differently. Hexen is also different from Heretic and Doom in that you can look up and down, and you get hurt when you fall a long distance. To gradually look up, press "Delete". To gradually look down, press "Page Down". To return to normal viewing range, press "End."

Character classes and description of weapons:

• Baratus, the Fighter: fastest, most powerful, has most armor, can jump the highest, but has the least magic
  • "1" - Spiked gauntlet (needs no mana)
  • "2" - Timon's Axe (uses blue mana)
  • "3" - Hammer of Retribution (uses green mana)
  • "4" - Quietus (uses blue and green mana)
• Parius, the Cleric: slower than fighter and has more magic than fighter, but less than the mage
  • "1" - Mace of Contrition (needs no mana)
  • "2" - Serpent Staff (uses blue mana)
  • "3" - Firestorm (uses green mana)
  • "4" - Wraithverge (uses blue and green mana)
• Daedolon, the Mage: slowest but has most powerful magic spells
  • "1" - Sapphire Wand (needs no mana)
  • "2" - Frozen Shards (uses blue mana)
  • "3" - Arc of Death (uses green mana)
  • "4" - Bloodscourge (uses blue and green mana)

Description of Artifacts:

Wings of Wrath

Enables you to fly, yet unlike in Heretic, it lasts the entire level

Quartz flask

Gives 25% health

Mystic Urn

Gives 100% health

Chaos device

Puts you back at the location from where you started, and cancels Porkulater spell

Torch

Gives light (for a few seconds)

Banishment device (shield with red cross)

Banishes whomever you fling it at

Boots of Speed (boots with purple soles)

Makes you run faster

Dragonskin Bracers (glowing purple bracelets)

Increase AC by 4%

Disk of Repulsion (yellow coin with crosshairs)

Repels whomever/whatever (including fireballs) you fling it at

Dark Servant (mini-Maulator)

for 30 seconds, the Maulator attacks your enemies

Porkalator (mini golden pig)

Can turn up to five people into pigs

Flechette (flask filled with green liquid)

Fighter uses these as grenades, Cleric uses these to create poisonous clouds, and Mage uses these as a Timebomb (see Heretic)

Mystic Ambit Incant (scroll)

Fighter gains armor point, Cleric gains health point, and Mage gains mana

Icon of the Defender (chess piece)

Gives invincibility (for a few seconds) and Cleric also fades in and out of invisibility while Mage becomes reflective

Krater of Might (silver and purple chalice)

Replenishes all your mana
