Although Gamma Phi Betas take academics seriously, the girls also love to have fun! Every year, Gamma Phi Beta throws many social activities including invitationals, formal, date-parties, and fraternity exchanges.

Invitationals are usually held in San Francisco at trendy venues rented out exclusively for Gamma Phi Betas and their friends. The best part about invitationals is the fun theme that gives sisters a chance to dress-up. Last spring, the new member invitational had the theme "G is for Gamma". As always, the sisters used their creativity to come up with costumes of characters or objects that began with the letter G.

Additionally, last year Gamma Phi Beta threw their annual “Crescent Ball” at the four-star, Pan-Pacific Hotel, located in the heart of the city. The sisters looked beautiful in their formal gowns, and had a terrific evening that included an elegant dinner, and dancing late into the night. Moreover, last spring Gamma Phi Beta also threw a more casual “date party,” which is similar to an invitational, but limited to Gamma Phis and dates. The theme for the spring date party was “A Night at the Gammys,” and was held at the chic yet romantic “Canvas Gallery,” located in the city.

Though Gamma Phis love going to events in the city, the girls also enjoy many fraternity exchanges held throughout the year. Exchanges are fun, casual outings enjoyed exclusively by the sisters and one fraternity. The sisters have gone to “Fondue Freds”, played broomball and Ultimate Frisbee and gone bowling with many of the fraternities at Cal. Exchanges give the sisters an opportunity to meet fraternity men on a comfortable, friendly level, and are always fun!

Besides attending planned social events, the sisters love to bond by going to local parties, dancing at clubs, or simply spending a Friday night with one another at the movies. One of the best things about being in Gamma Phi Beta is that there is always a sister with whom you can share fun memories!
