1. What is Veritas Fellowship?

Veritas Fellowship is the name of an interdenominational Christian fellowship for graduate and professional students associated with the University of California Berkeley. We are sponsored and supported by a variety of local Christian groups, including InterVarsity Fellowship and Campus Crusade for Christ, First Presbyterian Church at Berkeley, New College Berkeley and Westminster House.

2. What is the mission of Veritas Fellowship?

From our website: “The Mission of The Veritas Fellowship is to cultivate a community of graduate & professional students who seek to discover, explore and affirm the reality of Jesus Christ in relation to all of life, especially in the academic world; and to manifest such faith, in lives of thoughtful worship, love and practice.”

Be transformed by the renewing of your mind. - Romans 12:2

3. I am not a graduate or professional student. Can I still attend Veritas?

Absolutely! While our mission is primarily oriented towards graduate/professional students, we welcome anyone who wishes to seek God in our community. For example, older undergraduate students and young adults are and have been vital members of our fellowship.

4. What does Veritas Fellowship do?

We have two principal types of organized activities:

Small groups are weekly meetings of about 4-8 people who meet to study the Word and share praises and prayer requests with one another. We have a variety of groups which meet at different times during the week, as well as coed, single-sex and groups for married couples.

Large group meetings occur every Friday during the semester. During the semester we have typically various activities scheduled: some of the things that have happened during large group meetings in the past year include faculty speakers who come to share their testimony, panel discussions, talks by outside speakers or our own wonderful staff, worship evenings, even potluck dinners and social activities!

There are a host of other things we participate in, including departmental prayer groups, retreats during the fall and spring semesters, various conferences, and service projects.
