Berkeley Green Campus Awarded CACS Green Fund Grant!

The Berkeley Green Campus program was a proud recipient of this years 2008 Chancellors Advisory Committee on Sustainability (CACS) Green Fund Grant! The grant money will be used to keep the green campus program’s various projects for the upcoming 2008-2009 academic semester.

2008 Spring Blackout Battles Results~

~Spring 08’ “Blackout Battles” Residence Hall Energy-Savings Competition
RESULTS!~

Congratulations to Unit 4 for winning the Spring 08 BB Competition. The
Green Campus Program is collaborating with Cal Dining to provide you with
your prize! WE usually offer an ice cream party, but decided to take a
different turn this semester and were brining out the CHOCOLATE FOUNTAIN!
Keep on the look out for promotional posters for the exact date and time
of the event in late April.

Here are the exact results (savings in comparison to energy use in the
past 2 years):
- Unit 4: 7.24%
- Unit 2: 6.72%
- Unit 3: 5.01%
- Unit 1: 0.29%

Total Savings (in comparison to baseline data): 12.19%, 92.04 MWh,
equivalent to $9,200 in avoided energy costs

Thats right! Spring “Blackout Battles” Res Hall Energy Competition is here! The competition is between Feb.1st to March 1st. Competition between units 1-4 to see who can conserve the most energy.
