“Shut the Sash” Campaign Begins
Posted on October 13th, 2007 in Latest Announcements |
The “Shut the Sash” campaign just kicked off as Green Campus interns have been putting up conservation stickers on 108 fume hoods and gathering baseline data to measure the sash opening on each hood. We are holding a competition from October 15th to November 15th to see which labs can reduce their average sash opening by the most. The competition is between seven floors in Tan Hall that house the chemistry laboratories and two physics labs in Birge Hall. Green Campus interns will be monitoring and measuring fume hood sash heights before and after the educational “Shut the Sash” campaign to assess its impact. Additionally, energy data will be gathered throughout the month to track the changes in energy consumption due to the shutting the sash. The winning laboratory will earn a delicious fruit and cheese party.
